    Good morning to all.

LB, sorry to hear that you had a very bad night. Try to rest during the day. I forgot to mention that I adore your Snoopy cartoons.

Enjoy your tea and breakfast Rosie.

I just came in. It's cold and windy, but at least it's sunny. I have some washed clothes to hang, but it will wait till get little bit warmer outside. Now tea.

    Have a lovely Sunday.

A very good morning Ante. Will you be going to the cottage today? Have you any more veggies to harvest or are you all finished now? Enjoy your first cup of tea - nectar of the Gods as I call it. Glad you like the Snoopy cartoons and I'm glad that one of those recipe links for the pickled radishes worked out well for you. Have a great day too.

Good morning LB. I was planning to go to cottage but if it's so cold here on the coast, I can imagine how is in the hills. We shall see if weather improves.Β
I have some more veggies on the filed: carrots, more radishes, black radish, some squashes, chicory and chard.Β

Good Morning All, last week went by so quickly then the shocking news about our MP David. He is well thought of and it has greatly upset our community, his poor family my heart goes out to them.
On a more cheery note Mum is doing well & managing more for herself, in fact when I go round I never quite know what I’m going to find!Β
Glad you are both feeling better LB & Topbird, I hope Debs is too. Sorry to hear you had a rotten nights sleep LB, take things easy today if you can,Β
Lovely to see you Hazel @Songbird-1, I hope your OH doesn’t feel any ill effects from his jabs and fingers crossed for 23 🀞hope he feels better soon and you are keeping well,Β
Rubee I hope your OH recovers soon from the Jabs, sorry to hear he has felt unwell,
SGL I hope you & OH are both keeping well and all your family,Β
Busy lovely looking veg, hope your wall pointing is going well,Β
Bluebells Hope you get your meter readings sorted soon and the tablet connects up at home, what a nuisance.
Ante Hope you are more rested now after such a busy time harvesting and work, hope it’s a leisurely Sunday for you,
Slow start here, 2nd cuppa on the go while I contemplate what to do. Have a lovely day everyone.Β

Morning everyone. A grey but dry day here - the grass may get cut later on.

Good to see you Chive and good to hear your mum is doing so well. She'll be signing up for jive dance classes soon! I'm sure the murder of David Amess has shaken your town to the core. A popular and well respected local MP is very much a part of the community and nobody expects such a horrifically violent event to happen in a quiet town. Very shocking.

LB - sorry to hear you had such a rubbish night. Are you going to see your rellies today or are you giving it a miss again?Β

I had a look at the Casu Marzu cheese you mentioned yesterday. I assumed from the way you were talking about it that it was perhaps just a very strong cheese - and I love really strong cheeses. But no - it actually does sound pretty disgusting.

There's a nice clip on You Tube of Gordon Ramsey trying it - he didn't mind the movement, wasn't keen on the taste but really didn't like it when a fly started crawling across the tablecloth....🀒

Special note for Hazel - don't Google it!!!😁

    Hello all,

Got a few more hours kip and now contemplating a plan for the day. Forecast says less than 20% chance of rain for each hour this afternoon so I should be able to get out at some point without getting wet. Or I could just man up!

Looking out onto the front garden, the cornflowers are looking bedraggled in amongst the magnificent cosmos. Think I'll start to pull a few of them out to reduce the swaying mass that any wilds winds might take a fancy to.

Also need to do a couple of hours work to finish off last week and get in a better position for the coming one. Another fortnight and I'm hoping to be done :)

Bit damp out but I braved it in the end ;)Β

Thinned out the manky cornflowers as planned. Didn't realise how many zinnia had germinated amongst them. That section looks a lot more airy but healthy now. Whilst I was in destructive mood, the last French bean plant came out. Comparatively massive root system came up with it. One final lonely passable bean and 3 yellowed pods, from which I'll use the seeds/beans next year. Hope they take after the parent!!

On a roll, I then went for the strawberry plants in a shaded, little side bed. Very healthy, lots of growth but a paltry 13 edible strawberries from 6 plants. Their age was against them anyway and not sure they've enjoyed the new location or being moved around a bit last year. Plus there is a regular visitor through the hole in the netting which may have been enjoying them. Anyway, compost bin is a bit fuller and that raised bed is barren and waiting for an attempt at a different crop. Might try a raspberry in there...
