Morning Ruby and SGL. I'm not long in from 'sco and its heaving it down. Think it may be a knitting day today. Did you get that one SGL?

p.s. Ruby, the plant shelves were a tad uninspiring this morning so I resisted. I forgot to say that the two obelisks I ordered, arrived yesterday but they can remain in their wrappings for now. These are to go in the pots where I will plant my new clemmies.

    Morning all,

Not particularly pleasant here. Had an hour deadheading, weeding, feeding (last one for the tomatoes before I learn how to make chutney) and gathering leaves after getting to the SM early doors.

I've got quite a lot of vouchers for the local GC that expire tomorrow so I better get my shopping head on soon ;)

No running-around-a-field duties today, which I'm quite happy about. Well not yet anyway!

Oh and this is what my sweetcorn-growing efforts have amounted to so far. Not very good but at least it is better than last year.

  • I’ve been round to Rubees, love the new carpet, looking good.  Hazel sorry to hear daughter not feeling too good.  I hope this passes.  She’ll appreciate having mum and dad there.  Rubee, LB and Lily and Hazel I slept last night and slept in this morning.  I didn’t set off to supermarket until 9.30am, but fairly quiet considering.  One shelf of bread empty, others stocked.  Busy a long drive for you.  Enjoy your weekend.  LB good to hear positive news from Chey.  Please send best wishes. I’m glad medication is working for him.  Biglad enjoy your time at the garden centre.

Hi folks,  sorry I've  been absent but have been really busy.  I've been looking after the boys quite a bit and I've returned to my Friday morning Knit and Natter group.  I've also started a new Thursday morning drawing class.  Have had a bit of a 'low' period mainly due to Secondborn's ex.  He's decided to fight the divorce and that will mean that it costs a lot more and will cause a lot more upset.  It's proving stressful for us all.  I have read back but there were so many posts that I've forgotten a lot.
Glad Chey has had his roof done.
Sorry to hear that your daughter has been poorly again Hazel.
Hugs for anyone who needs them and I'm sorry if I've missed anyone out.

Good afternoon everyone. Biglad, at least your corn has got some seeds on it. I just think that this year has been a strange one for weird weather affecting the plants in the garden. I hate to think how many times I have written about the Marti around me yet every week I get an email from United Utlities expressing their concerns that Thirlmere and Haweswater reservoirs are only at 34% capacity when at this time of year they are usually 70%. Someone must have pulled the plug out. I reckon they are building up to a hike in prices.
Yvie, I am sorry to hear about your daughter's troubles. You must find time for yourself  to unwind in your knitting and drawing groups.

Hello everyone .... we're home .... we stayed overnight near Woburn Abbey, then stopped off this morning at the farm where I was born in Bedfordshire to pick up some lovely fresh veg, bread, eggs, a steak and ale pie for supper and a chicken to roast tomorrow from their wonderful farmshop.

Got home about 12.30 ish and OH has unpacked and started to sort things out.  I've had my feet up ...

    Hope everyone's ok ... I'll have a read back tomorrow ......... 👋

    Hello all.

Fingers are crossed @debs64, have a lovely day.

Son took us out for lunch in a lovely restaurant, my 3rd birthday lunch! Then we went to a GC and he bought me some alliums and tulips for my new jewel border.
