Oh my goodness Ruby! What a scare that must have been thinking you had lost Casper. I'm so glad that there was a happy ending.

Hello all ... hope that's not coming this way SGL ... I've got a line of washing flapping in the sunshine ...Β
As well as getting the holiday washing done I've made a vat of roasted butternut squash, carrot and cumin soup for OH's lunch flask this week, and I've got a chicken chuntering in the covered enamelled roaster, with onions, golden beetroot and potatoes ... we'll have some lovely leafy Swiss chard with that this evening.Β  Autumn is definitely here ...Β

Hope the wedding is going wonderfully ... much happiness to all πŸ₯‚

Afternoon all and congratulations and best wishes to Debs daughter and (by now) new husband. Wishing them many years of happiness together.

We managed to fill the motorhome with diesel this morning (yay!) which means OH can now take it to his training seminar tomorrow and use it for accommodation for a couple of Β nights before I drive over on Wednesday night to meet him in Ludlow for a couple of days in Shropshire.

The fuel situation round here is still pretty dire with many closed or restricted petrol stations - but it may be easing a tad. Think things will be much easier once we make it up towards the Midlands.

So it's all systems go getting packed up again. Chicken tagine is gently puttering away on the hob. Tomorrow I will portion it up for the freezer. It will make for a very easy late dinner on Wed night.

Glad Casper turned up safe, well and nice and warm Rubee! Reminds me of when my neighbour phoned in tears to ask if I'd seen her new kitten. He'd been gone for over 12 hrs and (not knowing the area) she was convinced he'd wandered off or been chased by a dog and she'd never see him again. She found him a few hours later - locked in the airing cupboard buried deep in a pile of towels 😁

TBird I bet the little kitten wasn’t in a hurry to come out of the airing cupboard .

No he wasn't Rubee - he'd made a nice little nest in there! He was nearly tied in knots keeping his legs crossed though - a very fast dash to the litter tray🀣

Hoorah, T'Bird, you are all fuelled up and I'm guessing you have got over the horrible cold bug that had laid you low. I hope that you and your OH have safe journeys to your destinations. Will you get a chance to go to Stokesay Castle whilst you are fairly near to it in Ludlow?
I got a chance to potter in the garden this afternoon. Moved a few pots as intended and sorted out the bird feeders including ordering some more food for the little blighters. Some cheeky little beastie has been having a root in the pots I had already stashed in the GH a few days back so I've lifted as many as possible onto the higher staging. That will trick them!
Loving the stories of the snuggly kitties too.
Hazel, what are we going to watch tonight instead of Vigil?
p.s. T'Bird, I meant to say that one of our February holidays was in Craven Arms so we walked a fair amount of miles round the area. There was (and I hope still is) a fabulous chocolate shop in Ludlow. As its the culinary capital of England you will be spoilt for choice of places to eat.

There is a new series called "Ridley Road", I've set it to record. I'll have to watch "Vigil" on iPlayer when eventually I go to Norfolk.

We went for a family walk this afternoon, it stopped raining.
