@Fire ..yes, I would say so, those laterals look recent, having had its main flush in June..
.. this is a once blooming rose with loads of lateral growth, but I shall keep these and tie them down to flower next May... I could shorten them in winter but shall choose not to as they will produce further short flowering laterals next Spring... ..autumn rains have started after a long dry spell.. quite heavy today.. ... if anyone is looking for a really healthy yellow floribunda, then 'Golden Beauty' is another to consider, much smaller than 'Absolutely Fabulous' - which can grow quite large and bulky, but this is easier to fit into small gardens and narrow confines..
..scant rebloom on C. 'Guernsey Cream'... 'Duchesse de Brabant'.. a rose with a strong tea scent.. 'Pink Martini'.. this morning..
I really like Donatella and Pink Martini @Marlorena. I agree with your comments on Golden Beauty although mine is very new, it is packed with buds again on a very compact healthy plant.
@pitter-patter Your paths are really beautiful, so clever you made them yourself.
Those hips are gorgeous @Nollie, I really must look at what I have with a view to hips. So far I deadhead automatically as I wander round, particularly this year I feel I am owed more blooms. Finally September is being better for roses here. It is raining so just a quick potter this morning and a couple of pics from yesterday.
The parade still good
Lady oS looking its best this year, I have better supports lined up for next year Ghislaine deF behindBoscobelThese Dames deC were hidden so I brought them in just for their last day or two.
I bought Moyesii Geranium especially for the impressive hips @ Tack and @pitter-patter, but the blooms are lovely too:
Of your two new HT’s I really like Donatella @Marlorena and would be tempted there. I am not an HT person either but felt I needed to try some. Unfortunately I haven’t been very impressed with my forays into that class so far, but perhaps I just chose badly. All have major faults like being disease-prone or having poor rain/heat tolerance so are being shovel pruned to make room for new purchases. Speaking of which..
Managed to bag all on my Rosaraie Loubert wish list except Marie d’Orléans. Predictably I caved and placed an order with Delbard too, so combined with my TCL order that makes 19. Ah well, only 9 over my self-imposed limit!
From Delbard, the first two are modern polyanthas and the second two are fragrant floribundas, although the classifications seem a bit random as the first is a ground cover rose and the last looks more DA shrub-like:
Mountainous Northern Catalunya, Spain. Hot summers, cold winters.
My last flush of blooms, still standing after torrential rain yesterday. My un named red standard. Always looses it leaves between flushes. Celebration one of my healthiest roses, the sawflies haven't damaged it as much as others. And Sheila's Perfumed a very late sudden flush.
..after heavy rain all day yesterday, these roses have stood up well.. ..this exquisite bloom on 'The Country Parson' has saved its bacon, I already have a border place for it.. it's a difficult one to place because of its thorny nature.. 'Pink Martini'.. stood up well to the rain.. another I have a place allocated for.. too good not to have this one I think.. 'Pirouette'.. 'Forever Royal'.. 'Armada'..
@Lizzie27 .. yes, mine is in a pot, doing very well... it's just over 3 feet tall, very upright growth.. beautiful foliage, large and leathery.. you might need to insert a cane or some piece of short trellis for support, I did earlier but have since removed it now the canes have stiffened.. I could keep it in this pot for another season but I also have a short obelisk looking for a rose companion, so it might end up there..

I have decided to not order anything. There is just no more space. I might order Eustacia Vye and Chippendale if I find it too hard to resist.
