Lovely roses everyone. Enjoying the end of season blooms. Now on every bloom feels so precious.
Dahlias, rose love song(more purple than it looks) and sunset in the garden. I feel so blessed to have this garden for all the days I have spent at home, and especially the ones when we have been isolating.
Fabulous dahlias @newbie77. What is your verdict on Love Song ie health, scent , habit, amount of blooms? I've given away Dioressence due to ugly habit, tall with large leathery leaves but I seem to need a mauve.
I received and potted up Olivia RA today, @Meomye, mostly bought topsoil with garden compost and vermiculite mixed in. It varies what I use depending on what I have in. I'll be a bit more exact when I pot it into its biggest final pot (56lt). I intend to feed my containers with DA rose food as directed and give seaweed drenches periodically and extra iron as needed.
I think my newish rose Artemis isn't that, this is surely too pink to be normally a white rose? Also the leaves and plant seem very small and daintyProbably my most floriferous rose this year, Easy Does It, is still really healthy (the wannabe Artemis below where you can see it looks pretty miniature )Carminia, New Zealand, The Prince and Timeless Purple, last 2 are much darker irl
@Eustace That MW is stunning! Very excited for mine... @Nollie your Ebb Tides lovely. Ive moved mine, it was a bit overshadowed where I had it and looking scruffy so hopefully it will perk up next year.
Very cold here, forecast 2degrees but feels like a frost coming.. Im glad I tucked in all the tender plants over weekend! My styles bare roots arrived earlier, so soaking in a bucket overnight.
@Tack, Love song is generally on healthy side. It has lost leaves lower down stem but overall not too bad. It might do better for you as I see your roses are looking very good for this time of year. I cant remember about the fragrance. Flowers are big and lilac. Currently there are lots of individual buds but it also did the cluster flowering in summer. I got it from TCL last year.
Both Weeks’ roses Love Song and Ebb Tide, new this year, are looking not bad for November, still got buds, plenty of foliage and not much BS. But then the famed Julia Child/Ab Fab from the same stable didn’t have much BS in it’s first year either!
Love Song:
Ebb Tide:
Super Trooper still looking very clean and lush at the end of it’s first season:
Mountainous Northern Catalunya, Spain. Hot summers, cold winters.
Impeccable looking beds @Nollie. Wish mine looked like that.
I've got a 5-6 ft high Pink Flower Carpet rose which has suddenly started to bloom again, despite our two recent overnight frosts. Small blooms but very welcome.
