Thanks for the advice @Marlorena I shall plant Simone in my border (once the fencing has been replaced (about 4 weeks time fingers crossed) and I’ll repot The Fairy soon. I love seeing everyone’s photos of their roses and I’m picking up valuable advice on growing them. Carry on rosy people 😀
Got a chance to prune today. I quickly pruned everything in pots. Should have given more time and thought about which branch, which node... Anyway, everything was looking thin and spindly so I just went cut cut cut... And they went from mess to very short. It's good that I am not a hairdresser 😄
@newbie77 mine will get similar haircuts! I only have 4 roses - chandos beauty ( had multiples of this but gifted the duplicates away ) / absolutely fabulous / easy does it / and a 'donated' blush noisette from a neighbour who is moving away ( so I don't actually get it till later this week). This last in a pot certainly needs TLC, I'm not in love with the way the flowers behave in rain , but I figure I'll try it for this season. I do really need to defoliate but partic ab fab has such gorgeous red young leaves and buds I've been putting it off!
Having only started a year ago ( thanks to inspiration from here) I already feel a lot more confident in my ability to keep roses looking decent (even if not as spectacular as some on here) in less than optimal conditions - so thank you everyone.
@Omori ..thanks for the info about the book, will you be buying? I'm not sure I need another glossy book these days, and with so much on HMF, so not for me..
Looks like people need to be a lot less shy about sharing rose photos, there must be such a variety out there we don't see much. I'm not too surprised at @Omori and @newbie77's totals, it has always seemed to me that if somebody asks about a particular rose one of them have it and it is great that they share their experience so readily.
I have long admired your Tottering @Marlorena but only have a shady dry spot available so reluctantly keep talking myself out of it. DA says it's 4ftx4ft but clearly yours is taller.
I do feel self conscious about posting my photos as I only have a few rose plants, so it's the same ones over and over. I'm sure some of you know the details of my roses better than I do and see more than I do. Hopefully in the 48,000 posts on this thread, my pics don't get too boring.
