Garden has gone to its winter soggy state already. Only good thing is I can finally use my bulb planting tool 😂

Fingers crossed bulbs won't rot, I am having a lot of back ache and I have only finished one fifth of those.

@Marlorena, @Victoria Sponge, any feedback about charles Rennie mackintosh rose?

Does it flower as lilac as shown in DA website? Any drawback?

..yes I would call it lilac pink, the lilac colour as well as the scent, is  more noticeable with age of the plant.. which can become 5 or 6 feet tall in time with minimal pruning, it gets quite vigorous... I had 3 when only 1 was needed... I swopped out for a different rose eventually, but it stays in good health until late autumn and is capable of a full flush of blooms as late as mid October..

@Dabolem, I've had Zephirine Drouhin for many years. It is a climber, almost thornless and with  beautiful pink flowers with a strong perfume for me. However it does not much like the situation I have it in (poor dryish clay soil by a lawn) so it is not very vigorous., reaching about 2 metres or so on a wooden arch. It has done better for me lately as I have followed @Marlorena's excellent advice about watering and feeding more. It does BS but I don't spray.

pink cloud Thorny? Yes it has large thorns  but absolutely not excessive . I train them without gloves. While guirlande for example what is stated as not thorny I consider as the devil In disguise 😉. Nice appearance but oh boy those pricklers. My jumper is caught constantly and even my hair..

Thanks @Marlorena and @Lizzie27 for your comments. I’ve just received the 2 roses and it’s absolutely true that Pink Cloud has many thorns. I will have to carefully think where to put it! Maybe on a obelisk in the center of the garden.

Zephirine is going to replace the MAC, which will go in the garden because the wall behind it is white and its flower disappear almost completely there. Is a north wall in some shade, but the MAC never had BS or mildew, so I hope ZD will be fine there. To be true, none of my roses or plants ever got mildew, so hopefully everything’s going to be well.
