Just spotted confirmation on new Austin releases timeline on fb comment from them replying to someone asking about new uk releases "We will be releasing our new varieties alongside the release of our new catalogue later this month.." Oooh exciting, end of this month then as suggested.
I want no thorns, deep coloured red/purple flowers continuously, attractive new growth in spring, decorative sepals, with pretty pointed foliage - strong autumn colours, with fruity scent in the morning, Old rose in the afternoon and musky tea at night, decorative hips that glow in the autumn light.
And thrives in cheap Aldi MPC in a ridiculously tiny container.
I’d settle for a single too. Deep pink or red/burgundy/purple single would be nice.
I can’t fit in any more climbers, the vertical space is taken. I need something compact!
Roses I’d like to see more of this year in my garden:
Princess Alexandra of Kent, her few blooms were glowing and beautiful and really well scented. But they were few. I hope she manages to grow a bit more this year. If not I’m moving her to a pot.
Munstead Wood, you may or may not have noticed that I posted very few photos of Munstead Wood last year, despite me being a big fan of the colour. Main reason for that was - I couldn’t get any, they were all low, trialing on the ground, hiding behind other plants and the whole thing barely grew at all.
..lovely summer garden @edhelka and you have a good backdrop with the green hill offering a borrowed landscape.. haven't seen you for a while, hope you are keeping well..

...poisonous to aphids and sawfly on contact , and on offer for £9.95 in a commemorative pot.

I’d like a new climber, or a single, but not in yellow.
