Thanks all, will have a look at all those.

    Lovely photos @edhelka

@Marlorena You saying about obelisks/ornaments has reminded me that I wanted to put a pond in a pot somewhere!

@Mr Vine Eye, just found the label in my Index box. It's an Ilex x meserveae 'Little Rascal'. Grows slowly to 0.5 to 1 metre in a dome shape. Has warm, coppery red serrated edges and tiny, white flowers but doesn't berry as it's male. The so-called 'blue' description is because it sometimes gets a violet shimmer in winter. I paid £16.50 for a probably 2 litre pot in 2018.

Asking for help here - will you prune Lady of Shalott as a climber or as a shrub rose? TIA for your kind advice.

@Fire - that looks great fire. Ld love one of those wide shallow bowls, but for the lack of ground space in the garden. Might have to get something that taller and narrower.

One day when I’m allowed to get rid of the lawn I’d probably put a pond in the centre!

Thanks @Omori and @Mr. Vine Eye.
When I went to prune the rose yesterday, I was in two minds whether to prune it as a shrub or as a climber. So left it as it is and asked your opinion. Mine has long arching stems and I have sited it next to a pillar. So I might try to tie the long canes to the post and see how it behaves this year. Last year, as it was its first year then, I had pruned it to a height of 1-1.5 ft. Anyway it is still in a pot so I can always move it around 😀
