Maybe they don’t export to the UK anymore and haven’t updated their website to say so, but seems a bit draconian to prevent the UK accessing their website entirely. Sorry to have gotten your hopes up everyone, but of course it may have failed at the purchase stage anyway due to the DA ban.
Mountainous Northern Catalunya, Spain. Hot summers, cold winters.
  • Hi. Advice needed from rose gurus please. I've dug up this rose as it was being smothered by other plants. Unfortunately it looks like it has seen better days. Has this succumb to suckers or shall I replant in the hope it will rebound next spring?

    Thanks 🌹

@Our_Garden_Our_Home I would take this as an opportunity to plant another rose, so many lovely varieties to choose from. That one looks past it.

@Fire how does Etoile dH for you (BTW, yours is beautiful) Do you have it in full sun? I was interested in it because I’ve read that like Falstaff and Pink Cloud it is one of the more shade tolerant roses out there. Is it true?

today I was taking out weeds, but then i thought that it might be better to leave them during the winter and take them out in spring. Maybe they can help in keeping the roots warmer. Am I wrong?

@dabolem mine are at the end of a north facing garden over arches, so they get sun from equinox to equinox; not so much the bases as the arching canes. DA doesn't mention it as shade tolerant; Peter Beales neither. that's not to say it isn't. But I think that shade tolerant roses are sought after so companies would not be shy to shout about it.
  • @Tack Many apologies - I know this has been asked and answered at least once, but with the huge number of threads and posts, I just can't find it! Your lovely grey pots for your beautiful roses: a) what size and b) where from?

    Thanks!

No problem @Pianoplayer,  I get them wherever I can , cheapest. But they are from Elho on the continent and fewer UK stockists this year. Most recently from here but the prices have increased. https://www.bloomling.uk/elho/vibia-straight-round-47-cm?sai=13525 I do really like them as they are light with not much taper and no rim so the capacity is high for the footprint and I think garden pots is a great use for recycled plastic.
@dabolem Ooops, edit as I realise it was @Eustace asking the question. When planting AG I just tried to find a soil pocket between the V of 2 big roots and enlarged the root-free area a bit. Got as near as made sense soil-wise. I never looked at expert guidance so may not have that right.
  • @Tack many thanks - bookmarked so I don't have to ask the same stupid question again!
