It's impressive to have this kind of field going on in October (if it's from October). Poppies and cornflowers? Late seeding?
Must be I think. I've had late cornflowers from a July sowing before, and (especially if the summer is cool enough for them to get started which I suppose it would be at HC) lots of other hardy annuals are happy to flower in autumn.
I'm really enjoying these lists, thank you @edhelka for starting them. @Omori no roses at Harlow Carr? that strikes me as very contrary but I guess only in the rose world are roses and HC so linked. Your list? I would love to know how you rate them given I enjoy your pics so much.
I wonder how @Katsa is getting on, so many projects going on with her.
Yes that’s right @celcius_kkw. We got in closer to noon on Friday as we were taking the train into London, then the tube and coach from Victoria station (the last one happily free as the payment system was down).
It was a hot day and the crowds at the Chelsea Flower Show were definitely packed from noon onwards, really no social distancing to speak of. We saw a lady being treated by paramedics, she had probably fainted from the heat. Overall there was a lovely atmosphere though and everyone was friendly and chatty.
Shopping-wise, I bought some camellia oil from the Niwaki stall for my snips. Dahlia Beach had a small but very tempting display (for ordering online). Did you get anything?
And those are lovely photos from HC @Omori, thanks for sharing them.
..such lovely gardens at Harlow Carr @Omori looks like you had a nice day there... the photo with the Aster, Verbena and trees in the background I think is a gem of a picture..
..great lists and photos, so very informative for any lover of roses looking for something different... and what to avoid..
@Woodgreen ..just to say your list is as valued as anyone's and actually it's quite an impressive list of roses, some not seen too often... perhaps next Spring you could show some photos as there are a few I'd really like to see..
@cooldoc I so very nearly ordered 'Lyda Rose' yesterday.. due to your photo of it.. I'm holding back, but it's a struggle..
Looking at the map, I think the roses must be in the scented garden section, which I missed as the heavens opened and we ended up in the gift shop. I'll have to go back next year during Spring and see what they have. I was with guests so didn't have as much time to look around as I would have liked.

1) Your top rose of the 2021 season
Albertine, it may only be once blooming but the show it put on was absolutely fabulous.
2) Best new (1st year) rose
Princess Alexandra of Kent, put on a lovely display for it's first year and I really enjoyed the flowers.
3) Best 2nd or 3rd year rose
Lady Emma Hamilton, especially the Autumn flush has been fabulous.
4) Your most reliable rose
Again, LEH. Always performs.
5) Your healthiest rose
Olivia Rose Austin
6) Your most fragrant rose
Hmm hmm hmm...Munstead Wood is quite spectacular.
7) The biggest surprise of the year/unexpected performer
Princess Alexandra of Kent again, really enjoyed it.
8) The most disappointing rose
Reine Victoria is rather weak for me...twiggy canes, susceptible to disease, etc. If it doesn't improve next year I'll probably get rid of.
9) Add your own category - any rose you want to mention for any reason, good or bad
I’m looking forward to Wollerton Old Hall’s progress next year. It’s in mostly shade under overhanging conifer branches, planted right next to a large hydrangea, and it’s already doing well and flowering. It’s a trooper!
'Lady Emma Hamilton' seems popular all round... I do like the colour very much.
...some pics for today... very windy, blustery conditions.. 'Pink Martini' / English Lavender 'Maillette'.. highly scented and long flowering.. 'Frilly Cuff'.. Geranium x cantabrigiense varietes make a nice edging I think... 'Nathalie Nypels' and 'Golden Memories' in the distance.. Gruss an Aachen closest.. Sedum 'Autumn Joy'.. C. 'Piilu'.. Parahebe 'Avalanche'.. one of the longest flowering shrublets I know of.. 'Donatella'.. yesterday..
