Munstead Wood is leafing up well. Jamain is doing well too. I find that not much is known about the Doctor, but he published widely on diseases of the scrotum.
For your amusement, we have got two 15month old pups to join our pack.. no destruction and super well behaved... othr than they have taken a shine to nibbling the end of my rose stems and nibbling leaves!
Mine’s really summer garden too @cooldoc, although summer starts late April/May here. I keep meaning to get more bulbs, hellebores etc., but never seem to get around to it, so I just enjoy everyone else’s early colour. Feels comparatively cool right now @Marlorena, no sun = no real heat, but boy am I glad of the rain.
@Tack’s TP gives us hope, newbie. My first from TCL was much more robust and didn’t suffer any dieback, but young growth is brittle, as Tack says, easily damaged by weather - that’s a handy support you have there, could do with one of those for LoS.
That’s a good question @MrMow, I just planted my first standard and the nursery I got it from did advise to protect young growth from frosts, so I throw some bubblewrap over the top when minus temps are forecast. I know others don’t bother though, so I think it does depend where you are - I was regularly getting around -3 just after planting it. You wouldn’t bother with roses normally, but it’s possible the grafted roses on top of the long stem are more vulnerable.
Yes pup photos please Jessica!
Mountainous Northern Catalunya, Spain. Hot summers, cold winters.
They are wonderful, still very much puppies! Was so awful losing one of my youngsters so suddenly earlier this year and one of our rescues before christmas, feels like the house and garden is full of fun again. Ive been showing them potting bare roots, which they watched with fascination before a muddy nose boop! They get on so well with the others (we have, ahem, 5 again now ). I shout oi, get off my rose leaves and they scamper off
@Tack super soft and cuddly! Hehe they arent too crazy, they like a snooze and will happily play with their toys to entertain themselves when we are working, and they play with the others too. Also real cuddly lap dogs, so often just want to cuddle with you and watch TV! Perfect really.
