This is Desdemona, bare root planted in Nov.
Looks like I have either planted it low or the earth has settled since planting and it is now sitting in a 2" depression.
So what should I do here:
    • Do nowt and leave it as is ?
    • Dig up and replant it to raise level a little ?
    • Fill in the depression around it by 2" covering stems and new lower shoots ?

Just another day at the plant...

@owd potter Just mulch it, and be gentle around the new shoots. Did the same thing with topping up the pots.

Its not actually a bad thing - makes watering easier if it’s in a little bowl. I always try and make a bowl when (if?) I top up soil or mulch so the water is directed rather than running off all over the place.

I've just completed the DA survey sent by email.  I thought of edhelka's comment about their new roses - not enough information to go on, so I pointed that out in the any other comments box.  It's true enough, there was only 1 picture of each, showing just a little of each rose, I would like to have seen it in a garden setting, after all they've been trialling them for 10 years..
It could be deliberate, just giving a taster which leaves us intrigued to find out for ourselves.   There's money in that [sorry I have a suspicious mind]..

I have a standard rose that was giving to me last year as it was very unhealthy after watching a few Vids on you tube I gave it a hard prune this year, I have loads of new shoots on it it.

Should I protect it from frost?
I never knew retirement would be so busy.

Whereabouts are you @MrMow. I am fairly south and mine are in a sheltered position but still exposed to light frost. Last year I think most of us on here got frost nipped (and our roses!) but they all came good as far as I know. And welcome, we look forward to photos, do you have a name for your rose, my Standards are Eden and Canary Bird?

    Edit: my 800 post!
Another Edit, I never noticed edits count as new posts.

For all you know it would be another floppy sprawling thing! May be I should give them support while planting just in case... Austins have slowly taken all my dahlia pots and supports as well.
