Bugger all plums here, although next doors mirabelle had plenty, far too high up to pick, the squirrel had them. Lots of apples though, the deer is scrumping them.
Thank you @KT53. You'd think there is someone left in the EC who understands English grammar. Thinking about it, your answer makes sense if you relate it to PCR tests. I'm making a duty visit and I'm really not comfortable about it. Phoned to get a green card. It would arrive in a week. Phone call. from insurer. You don't need one . That kind of thing. I'm getting too old for this. I just want to play in my garden.
Especially for @NorthernJoe  Palermo peppers refusing to ripen. The much vaunted August heatwave ? Got a week to go but I don't see it happening. Will that do for now ? Â
Better!
I've still got a few tomatoes in the greenhouse. Not sure there's much life left in them but i guess it's autumn in a week or so perhaps I shouldn't grump about them.
There's better things to grump about and that's the sow times on seed packets. I no longer trust them. I got three rows of carrots, one or more of turnip, fennel and kohlrabi all in the last sow month on the packet. New house so we were rushed to even clear those small patches so there wasn't much we could get in. Carrots came up in a couple of patches then disappeared. It's now full of what looks like small grass coming through. The others either didn't come up at all or came up, but thinned out then got nibbled by something. With all of them most never showed so I think the sow dates are out by a month.
Try again next year. Possibly sew green manure over winter. Then hoe it in ready for earlier in the year. Not sure if there's some green manure good for soil above limestone, not very deep to the limestone rock neither. It certainly needs sto fight the weeds while it's left blank.Â
I checked the French website for visitors to Ireland @B3, in case it's a case of poor translation. Apparently, if you are double vaccinated and coming from the EU or EEC (which UK still belongs to I believe) you need no PCR test, just proof of vaccination.
@Obelixx, don't dismiss Golden Delicious out of hand. I saw a piece from Brogdale, where the expert said they got a bad reputation because they were picked very under ripe so they would store and transport safely. According to him,  picked properly in season they are full of flavour.

However, the Irish website says you need to fill in a passenger locator form before you travel and give contact details for your stay.
