Dreadful times indeed Dove. Unfortunately we can only look on in horror as it all unfolds.

I hope you found a lovely Mother of the Bride dress @debs64.

That is kind of you and your son @Dovefromabove. It's all so awful.

Today we went to Pensthorpe Natural Park. I've posted photos.  https://forum.gardenersworld.com/discussion/comment/2388650#Comment_2388650
Soon after we arrived it started raining, not forecast, so we headed for the café, good that we went earlier enough to find a decent table inside because, soon after, everyone else did the same thing. We had thought it would be a washout and we'd leave but the rain stopped and we had a lovely time. It's a beautiful place, several lakes and ponds, loads of birds, ducks, flamingos, cranes etc and large gardens designed by Piet Oudolf.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

    Evening everyone.
@debs64 hope you found a dress you liked.
@Songbird-1 hope you had a restful day.
Managed to get a few more bits for Poppet2 birthday. I got a game and ......a dolls buggy. It's got a hood and cover and a little bit underneath for 'shopping' 😉
Also got wrapping paper etc. And a special box of chocolates for neighbour who took OH to physio the other day.

Glad you had a lovely day in the end @Busy-Lizzie and the rain disappeared.
@Chivetalking hope things are going well with your mums recovery and she'll soon be home. Take care.

Debs, would you ever consider hiring a dress to wear to the wedding? I am not a great 'dress' person so investing in a dress that was probably only going to be worn at most a handful of times is not for me. I've never hired a dress myself but then I've not had the occasion that requires one. I do think I would consider hiring or maybe I'd get out the sewing machine!

SGL, I love the sound of the gifts you have got for Poppet. Did you have a little go with the buggy? It sounds very cute.

Thank you @Songbird-1 and @Ladybird4  I did push it around the lounge......well I had to make sure the wheels worked 😉  I think Poppet2  will like it too. And the little cuddly cat I got for her birthday the other day will probably get a ride in it. 😂
Hazel I hope you sleep better tonight. We all still seem to be taking it in turns with funny sleep patterns. I wonder if we'll ever get back to normal, I do hope so.
Any news on your friends daughter LB?
Had a look at your photos on the other thread @Busy-Lizzie they are beautiful, thank you for sharing.

Evening SGL. My Bestie's daughter got her blood test results this evening. The blood count is down so she can go away on holiday on Saturday but she has to return for further blood tests next Thursday. It does look as if the new antibiotics are working. Luckily they are not staycationing (hate that expression!) too far away. Bestie is very relieved.
