Clearly a case now of leave well alone but make him as comfortable and calm as possible @Hostafan1.Ā Apart from anything else you don't want your last memories of him to be of him ranting and raging and in pain which is what happened to OH's dad.Ā Worcester hospital is not a good place to die of terminal cancers either.
Hi folks,Ā been painting most of today trying to get the dining table and chairs finished.Ā Had a lousy night as the bite on my little finger is infected and is now purple like @Obelixx finger.Ā Went to Boots for some advice and was told I needed to get antibiotics from GP.Ā Called GP and found out that one of our local chemist is now allowed to prescribe for minor injuries.Ā So I popped round and after a few questions I was given antibiotics which I have now started taking.Ā Hopefully it will stop throbbing soon and I can get a good nights sleep.Ā
I had to have a C* test today as had a sore throat and feeling bit icky š¬
Pleased to hear that you have met with Palliative Dr @Hostafan1. They can be the voice of sense when other specialties want to ādoā stuff, or wonāt acknowledge when the time has come to focus on comfort.Ā
Lovely evening here. Make the most of the evenings folks - only a few weeks left of more than 12 hours daylight. My Acers seem to be changing colour already - not Autumn colours but a muted version of their Summer greens and reds.Ā
So glad you got to have some discussion with the Palliative Care Consultant, Hostafan. Have you got a written care plan you can wave at the doctors and nurses directly involved in his care? Donāt be afraid to request, and if necessary, demand, another meeting if he isnāt being kept comfortable and at a minimum, out of pain.
Enjoy your trip to Chatsworth @Chicky, it will be worth the long journey.
ThanksĀ @Lizzie27 š„°. Ā Not a long journey there, as we stayed in Nottingham overnight. Ā I LOVED Chatsworth š. Ā A glorious mixture of unbelievable grandeur, interspersed with inspirational planting. Ā The rock garden took my breath away š. Ā It came highly recommended and didnāt disappoint. Ā Sorting my pics out atm ā¦.. might post some on the garden visits thread tomorrow if I can summon the energy to battle with the system š
Back home now (and that was a long journey ⦠but it went remarkably quickly).  Feels like we had a really good break.  And this little fella really made me smile
I can understand why you took that photo Chicky. Makes you smile.š Did I ever tell you that one of Dadās ancestors used to work at Chadstone? He was the one who came to Australia in the early days and started our Australian line.Ā
Obelixx, we didnāt know about the virus affecting olives and other plants. Shake my head at peoples lack of understanding about bringing unquarantined plants in. Ā Hubby used to work for Quarantine when we lived in Darwin, so we are very aware of some of the problems people can create.
Watching the morning news here. Shock and horror in Afghanistan. IS are up to their old hateful ways by bombing the airport. Ā Shaking my head. So much hate. š„ŗš
On a more cheerful note, weāve had rain for the last two days. Lovely to see the Roos spread out in the paddock eating wet grass. š. Iām sure my various plants will be enjoying it.
Sorry Hosta, I got side tracked. I meant to send wishes to you and your Hubby. I hope he can be managed with more calming and painless treatment. It must be SO hard for you. Ā Youāre in our minds all the time.Ā
Good morning @Pat E. Many thanks to you ,and to everyone, for you kindness. It really is greatly appreciated.Ā He is much more calm now but the staff told me his legs " gave way " yesterday a couple of times .Ā Every day there's some new signs we're heading towards the end.Ā The Palliative Consultant says " weeks , rather than months " .Ā

Went to Leclerc and 2 GCs, bought a Lantana and a Gaillardia from the reduced price plants to fill in a gap.
I hope sore fingers will be better soon.

Your girls continue to amuse me, Obelixx.š
