Thank goodness he's going @punkdoc. I'm already feeling sorry for his new neighbours. Hope he isn't going next door but 1 to our Norfolk cottage!
I've done watering and cutting off of the huge courgettes. The round ones taste really nice and sweet and are still tender. I've just made a big pan full of soup with one and potatoes, onions and mint. Lunch for several days.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Our lovely sunny start turned grey and cool for a while but it's looking brighter now.Ā The chooks have happily re-arranged all the compost OH dumped on my rose beds so I have that to sort out before I can plant.Ā Such entertaining girls!
Yes, to your question @tui34. I'll be going back to England when we know if and when OH will have his operation. I had to come back here for baby grandson's baptism on Saturday, but there are other things I needed to be here for too.

The main house is still not sold, but he has moved out. His 2 other properties on the site are both sold and we are awaiting the new neighbours. It was originally a large Manor House with stables, which over time has become 5 properties.
How can you lie there and think of England When you don't even know who's in the team
I was researching new dishwashers last night and think I've decided on the simplest Bosch one, I'm mystified that some come Wi-fi enabled so one can operate them remotely! Why?
My thoughts exactly, Lizzie27. As far as I am aware, the only things you can do via the Wi-fi are to switch it on, or on some models, you can reduce the noise it makes, so you can supposedly watch a film in peace. There are some that have a reservoir for dishwashing powder, so will email you to let you know when itās running out, or even worse, order a new supply for delivery! I would gladly pay a premium for a Wi-fi enabled machine, if it would remotely fill itself, run a wash, and empty itself when the washing cycle has finished. Otherwise, Iām prepared to switch it on myself! Our old machine was a Bosch, and weāve been very happy with it. Only replaced it as we have put in a new Ikea kitchen, and it was such a faff finding a model that would fit in the space and would take the non standard Ikea door front. We bought an Ikea one which was made in Germany and almost identical to a Neff or Miele machine. Itās working very well so far. I donāt use the eco mode wash, as it takes 4 hours, but the auto wash is only just over 2 hours, but often quicker if it senses the plates arenāt all that dirty, and I was amazed by how little water it uses.
Love my Bosch dishwasher.Ā Ā It has a timer button for when we had cheap overnight electricity.Ā Not needed now we have PVs unless, of course, we load it up late and want it to go off in sunshine.Ā Certainly don't want it or any other domestic appliance involving heat or water going off by Wi-fi.Ā Asking for trouble.Ā Ā Ā
OH is trying to axe the root stump of a tree we felled a year after living here.Ā The grafted tree had lovely fruits but the previous owner cut it down for some reason and all we had left was multi stems which grew from the stumps.Ā Tried lifting the crown to make it prettier but it was neither use nor ornament - boring bark and leaves and no blossom or autumn colour.Ā Ā The chooks are hovering so I shall have to go and distract them to help me with some planting.Ā Ā
Thanks Dove. Lucky he had taken the photo before it all melted. Ā Just shows you how hardy those Eucalyptus trees are, doesnāt Ā it? Ā And no, before you ask, Iāve never scrambled over those hills so I donāt know which species are there. Probable the same as those on our side of the valley. š
