So much sad news here, good luck to @Dovefromabove's son, hope he succeeds.Ā Thinking of @Hostafan1 and his hubby and sending sympathy.
I'm doing clearing up and gathering things for my journey back to France which starts tomorrow afternoon, drive to OH's daughter's on the South coast. Ferry on Sunday morning. Long drive to my daughter's, south of Poitiers. Home on Monday.
Going to Morrison's to buy Yorkshire tea for daughter 1 and Cream Sherry for Son 2. He likes it in his Christmas trifle.
Having fish and chips this evening from the fish van which stops here on Fridays.

@Busy-Lizzie enjoy your last day in Norfolk ... have a good journey š¤ Amelia Reynolds from BBC Look East has been in touch (she was at school with my son) ... they may be doing an item on D this evening ...Ā

It's a long haul @Busy-Lizzie so it's good that you have stopovers organised.Ā Hope it goes well.
We have sunshine and some warmth but I'm busy indoors doing patch homework for Monday's meet.Ā Going out later to plant my new cabbages and hide them from the chooks.Ā Ā
Hospice teams are so skilled at the complex End of Life stuff .... it's what they do ... hospitals are usually about saving life ... they have different skills.Ā Maybe they need to consult with someone with the specialist skills that Hospices have developed over the years ...Ā
Ah ... just seen @punkdoc's post ... yes ... palliative care is very specialised.Ā Ā
That is so true, Ā I had a Marie Curie nurse for my dad, she was lovely, Ā she even washed and dressed him after he had died. Ā She told me it would help me if I did it with her, it didnāt! Ā Hospital really should have something stronger though. Ā They shouldnāt leave a patient in a distressed state.Ā

Marmite another visit @tui34. I have several jars in the larder in France and Leclerc sells it.
It rained quite hard last night, Dahlia David Howard was almost on the ground and a tall Michaelmas daisy was bent over the twine supporting it, one thick stem was split.

@punkdoc will correct me if Iām wrong, but i believe Ā the mixing of sedation with pain relief is complex ⦠there are also ethical considerations. They canāt just keep upping the dose ā¦this is why help from a skilled palliative care team used to dealing with the quality of life aspect alongside legal issues would be so helpful.Ā

Agreed @punkdoc š Ā I suspect the problem may be that theyāve got their heads around the end of life cancer care but the dementia is unpredictable. It can be similar when dealing with palliative care for folk with severe learning disabilities.Ā
