  • So how about a 'creative garden photography' thread, which can carry on throughout the year if people want, and then we can leave this thread to flower close ups as was the original intention. I'm happy to start it if I get a few thumbs up.

    I'd love that.

Having given the thumbs up, would the suggested thread be similar to the one entitled "Garden Gallery 2023"?
  • @Plantminded sounds a great idea.
  • @NormandyLiz No I am very happy with the way people are adding to this thread. The point being as it says and you do is to get us to look so much more closely at the lovely plants we have in our gardens or elsewhere. The beauty of plants is so worth taking time out to appreciate whether it is the flower structure, leaves, seed heads or bark.
The photos people have put up are incredible.

No, that's more general 'this is overall what my garden looks like and here are various parts of it, whereas I was thinking more of looking at things more from a photographic perspective.

I'll start a thread where we can discuss it, to keep this one clear for shots that fit the general 'close up' theme - does that sound ok @bertrand-mabel :) ?

It's  a close up ... but of what?
     ;)
And I'd  love to carry on through the winter.

@NormandyLiz I have been thinking about all this and whilst I was the one to start the thread "all you" people are the ones that have developed it and evolved it. It isn't "mine". It is "our" thread. So how and when people want to move it on, then go for it. It isn't for me to say yes/no. We all contribute and have in such a fantastic way. I enjoy so much seeing the plants from somebody else view. Inspiring.
    Does that make sense?
  • It makes perfect sense, @bertrand-mabel. I do think, though, there we (or at least I!° risk muddying the waters a bit a we search for winter subjects so I have started a new thread, but that is not intended to replace this but to expand our subject range especially in the 'dead' season
