  • In the Garden Gallery 2023 discussion, I mentioned that I had moved the Deutzia x hybrida magicien twice, and I was happy to have leaves this year, but didn't expect any flowers. It made no intention to flower last year, even it was on the same place since September 2021. I moved the Deutzia to a final position in September last year. Much to my surprise and joy, it is covered in flower heads. They are all over my Deutzia. I'm over the moon.

I had shown the flowers of the Vibernum Carlesii "Aurora" in April. What I also wanted to share are the leaves. It starts with green leaves, they change the colour, and are green again after a month. This was the colour when we bought the plant in 2021.

It is interesting how different daffs have opened this year. We in our village never had flowers open for March 1st,even though those further up in the village did, however this year they were opened the first week of Feb

Yes, it must be the cold spring. I've still got daffs waiting to open. In the half barrel where I want to plant sweet peas the daffs have only just opened. Sweet peas can't wait much longer so the daffs will just have to shift over a bit. They'll be well compensated by having a dressing of fresh compost with extra FBB.

  • Just for you @GardenerSuze After the Eremurus produced no flowers at all, it looks good this year, but it includes slug and snail watch in the morning and evening.

    I keep you updated.

@Simone_in_Wiltshire That is kind of you, a show stopper of a plant. I find the first time I see any flower  for the first time in the season very exciting. Always makes a day special, then that is what gardening is about. Yes would love to see updates,  your photos are so clear. Suze

@Sheps So many 'likes' again your photos are so beautifully clear too. the intense colour is what you really notice.

    What a wonderful World.

    Thanks very much @GardenerSuze :)
  • Disaster has stroked @GardenerSuze I'm so devastated.

But for all in a similar situation, this might help.
