    It’s a larkspur. It’s quite successful at self-seeding in my garden.

    I’ve also tried to capture the velvety shimmering colour of this purple delphinium, but the photos don’t do it justice.



  • Do buds count? I planted it, but no idea what it is. Amazing though! Anyone know it?

    The ordinary pink cosmos keep very well, so maybe you'll be lucky.
    In London. Keen but lazy.

    I think the green sticky thing in your Nicotiana, @Jenny_Aster, is the pistil.  It's sticky so the pollen doesn't fall off when it's fertilised.   :)

    Dear All
    Have been away from the Internet and now find mega fab photos of close up flowers. so briliiant. as others have said so stunning but at 75 and counting please take this as they are all fabulous and so much worth sharing. I will look at all but worried that some may feel that I had ignored them....not at all. Will keep a look out at all close up of flowers as they are so amazing.
