Garlic grown in a builder's bucket (harvested last week)

    And another plate of loganberries:

Oxford. The City of Dreaming Spires.
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils (roses). Taking a bit of liberty with Wordsworth :)

@skylarks What do you do with the mooli?
Your strawbs are looking bigger and better than mine, not that it's any consolation!

@gondor, the mooli is being fermented with ginger and kafir lime leaf. It’s not a flavour I’ve tried before so 🤞it will turn out ok.  I think different strawberry varieties will have different sizes.

It’s been a difficult growing year due to the weather. Hopefully, everyone’s strawberries will be much bigger and better next year   😊

Whilst others are harvesting many fabulous veg we are still waiting for the majority to produce a harvest.
However our currant bushes have done extremely well.
With the blackcurrant, we have eaten bowls of them with yogurt as "afters", frozen 3 containers and bottled 6 jars. Now it is time for the wine making from this collection.
All from just one plant and we still have another to crop.
They make a great deep red wine.

That's an impressive haul @bertrand-mabel. Can I ask how old your blackcurrant bush is?

I've had a very small crop but only got my 3 plants in February.

@Biglad it is a very very old bush. It was in the garden when we moved in 1978!!!
It has (and others) been moved around until we found the spot we liked.
We did cut back certain stems over the years but nothing drastic as we didn't know aht we were doing.
4 years ago we pruned it right back and so didn't get any fruit the following year.
The next was ok but only for immediate use. Since then it has gone from big yields to bigger ones.
It has grown so much that we feel that we should prune it back again but then no fruit from this bush next year.Good thing we have another one (no idea of the varieties of either) to keep us going.
Maybe we have learnt now what to do.
But getting crops from your youngsters in brilliant.

That's great info @bertrand-mabel. Thanks very much.

I wasn't expecting much at all this year. I got 3 'sticks' like this one that arrived on 25th March.

I've bunged them in planters for this year whilst I sort out the fencing/border that I want them in. Just to see them 'take' and put on some good growth was the goal. Getting any fruit this year was a massive bonus.

There's probably the same again still on the bushes, which I'll munch soon. Knowing that they can and will fruit makes me  :)

I'd like to mention that I got them from DT Brown. Everything that I've ordered from them has been excellent. Can't recommend enough.

Continue to pick mangetout, podding peas and courgette. The mangetout have suddenly slowed right down so think they are coming to an end. Carrots are coming up nicely. I have a 10lt bucket of beetroot that we are cooking as roasted wedges.
