Sorry folks, it was late and I was irritated. "Loathing" was too strong... He's not the only contestant over the years who's irritated lots of people (me included) by playing up to the camera, though. (Katie whatsername who introduces the Proms and similar, is one who springs to mind.)
I'm prepared to give the over-50s the benefit of the doubt when asking if a) they lack application, or b) have difficulty (not seen in the very young) in remembering things as well as they could. I know I used to learn my French vocabulary on the bus on the way home from school, and it would be there for ever - but learning a language now is a different kettle of fish. (I've been trying to learn Portuguese for years.) And as far as dancing goes, I'd still get it wrong if I practised every hour available - and I'd still have two left feet... so perhaps Greg's memory isn't as good as it was, and maybe he doesn't have any natural ability? Are we too quick to condemn, based on dislike of his love for the camera?
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
We were out dancing on Saturday so had an SCD fest last night with both the show and the results. Very pleased to see Greg go - he just didn't get it and seemed to think he could act his way thru despite not having learned his dancing "lines". Agree about his costume - awful - and wonder what Shirley was watching in the dance off. I suspect Karen is relieved this morning.
The camera work is poor but I do think Adam had a fair bit to do in his AT with lots of leg flicking/gancho hooks. Aljaz's choreography was superb. Clever chap. Johannes too. I'm afraid AJ's legs and feet were all over the place in her samba so not a good performance but expect she'll do better next week. Thought everyone else did OK to well and am generally pleased that they're all working hard to improve - except Greg but he doesn't matter now.

The BBC sometimes make some poor choices trying to get "names" to go on a show.
Camila Dallerup partnered the sports presenter and former athlete Roger Black one year.
He had a "motivational speaking business," so she had to follow him all around the UK and Europe trying to fit in some dance practice between his engagements.
I had the (mis)fortune to attend one of Roger Black's motivational presentations some years ago. What he seemed not to understand is that it is very easy to motivate yourself when you are doing something you love - and are being very well paid to do at the same time. Not so easy when you are basically a wage slave, ploughing through a day you really don't enjoy very much.
I think it might be Judi in the DO again next week, but who do you think she will be up against? Some are slipping under the radar, like Nancy and her partner, hes good but not mentioned much.
The whole truth is an instrument that can only be played by an expert.
I'm with @Liriodendron on cutting Greg some slack. But he was definitely the right one to go this time. I thought the shirt was fabulous... the trousers not so much 🤣.
Several dances / dancers were 'not their best' this week, imo. Lots looking very nervous (even more than usual) as the dance-off names were being revealed. Looking forward to next week and hope they can raise their games again.
'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need.'
Judi also said under her breath that she had made mistakes but how Shirley chose Gregg Wise over Judi I will never know, so what if she made one or two more mistakes than Gregg at least her performance looked something like a dance Gregg looked like he was having some kind of fit, if one other judge had chosen Gregg he would still be there and that would have been a tragedy. We're getting to the point where people who look competent will start to get voted off it only takes a mistake or getting the Rumba or Jive at the wrong time and you are gone much better to get the difficult dances over early doors.

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Lesley Garrett is another that loves herself and gets on my nerves.
Jimmy Tarbuck had to leave for health reasons too.
