Robert Webb’s  Flashdance for Comic Relief is a strong possibility for my Desert Island luxury …. I s’pose it’s too much to hope that he’ll reprise that 😍

I like Greg Wise and hope he does well and I remember John Waite from an early GBBO.  I recognise the Dragon and Da Walker and the Indian actress but the rest have never been on my radar.   Don't really care as long as they try hard, take advantage of a golden opportunity and remember it's not all about them and will be hard work but fun.

I get very fed up by those contestants who moan about how hard it all is.   The rewards are enormous and I'm not talking about the fee.
It took me a while to remember who John Whaite is, but then then I looked him up. Thought he was good on GBBO. Seem to remember he caused a stir when he turned up in wellies. Not sure why that was so noteworthy but then I am a gardener.

Going to miss the gorgeous Janette Manrara this year and looking forward to seeing how Sara Davies does.

I've always disliked how they usually have the launch show and then a gap before week 1 - but I notice they're not doing that this year. Week 1 is next week (I imagine the launch show has already been recorded).

I believe so @LG_.   I'm also pleased we don't have the wait to get started.

Launch show was pre-recorded.  Just as well as one pro has test positive and 2 others are refusing to have the Covid jab.  According in one press report (and we all know how accurate they are), celebs are far from keen to dance with them.
  • @KT53 It's impossible to work out which one of the pros has tested positive as every single one of them has posted Instagram stories of themselves (or has been photographed) out and about this week (training/photo shoots/TV appearances/eating out). I guess it's possible the positive pro is posting older photos so as to not be identified but that seems to be a little contrived.

God knows whether the press report is true. Who can tell any more? Would the celebs even know whether or not their pro partner had been jabbed? It's confidential information so the BBC wouldn't have been able to reveal their status to them. I know Amy had her jab quite a while back and Graziano was in the last couple of months. I don't recall seeing any of the others posting about having the vaccine.

If the celebs said that they wouldn't perform unless they had confirmation that their pro had been vaccinated the BBC would have to act.  It should have been part of the contract for all parties that they be vaccinated, for everybody's safety.
  • I agree it should have been put in the contract. I'm wondering about the element of duty of care. If a celeb caught Covid from an unvaccinated pro, where does that leave the BBC? That works both ways of course, we don't know for certain that all of the celebs have been vaccinated either.

That's why I said all parties should have to be vaccinated.
