Good morning <waving> ... goodness you've all been busy.
Enjoy Portreath @Yviestevie ...not sure how well you know the area, but you can't miss the lovely Hedgehog Icecreams just along the coast at Chapel Porth, and really good food and drink at the Blue Bar and also at the café both down on the beach at Porthtowan ... we go there often when we're visiting friends who live there.
My back/hip twinge is still niggling so I'm being very careful what I do today ... I wouldn't be at all surprised if hsewk exacerbates the problem so that will be very limited ... resting whilst watching Wimbledon and topping and tailing goosegogs are probably very curative.
Have a lovely day folks, even if you need a woolly on
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
We are so fed-up and depressed this morning, the hospital has postponed OH's hip replacement again, due this Friday. OH has white coat syndrome so his BP and pulse shoot up whenever he has to see a doctor. It's due to stress. When he had his cataract done they gave him a tranquiliser and it was fine. Anyway, the anaesthetist says he must have a cardiac assessment. They knew about his condition ages ago. He's waited so long for this op, it was delayed a year because of Covid and it took over an year to get the first appointment. He has a huge limp, pain wakes him at night, he has to use a mobility scooter and he's lost weight. I wish they would just get on with it.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
LB spy in the wild is an amazing programme. Love the gorillas. Also the blue planet with a fish using tools. Yvie I look forward to your holiday pics. Have a lovely time. Lily they say it’s a 50 percent crowd when it gets nearer the final at Wimbledon. Have a restful day. Chive good look with removing the old carpet. I’ll be pleased for you when the new carpets fitted and your homes your own again. LB I’ve not had a loganberry.
Gutted for you @Busy-Lizzie. Hope the assessment goes well (or you can bypass it) and you can get another date for OH's op.
Raining at Wimbledon It's grim down south I suggest they play in my back garden. Bit of a slope and there might be the odd dodgy bounce but we'll be playing all day every day Unless it gets too hot and sunny for everyone!
Oh Busy I am so sorry to hear that dreadful news. Sending a virtual hug your way. Surely having got all the necessary information before they gave your OH the first date for the operation they should be able to proceed. Mind you, remember me telling you about my sis-in-law waiting for her knee replacement? She hasn't even had a date. After her 24 hour BP monitoring, the Doctor has prescribed some medication for high BP for her. I'm not surprised at anyone having high BP waiting for these surgeries. There are no words!
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
Busy you and oh must be so disappointed after a long wait. I was watching the replay of the Venus Williams v Coco Gauff match some two years ago when, only 15, Coco winning in two sets.
Hi folks. Lovely weather today and our trip to Trebah was great have taken plenty of photos and will post them in the visits thread. Hubby struggled a bit with the climb back up but he managed with lots of stops at benches. @Dovefromabove we are probably going to the Blue Bar on Wednesday. Tomorrow we are off to St Ives. Had dinner at The Unicorn last night.
Sorry to hear about the postponed op you must both be very dissapointed
