    Coincidence! Just seen an article on the BBC website about a retired farmer whose videos have become a hit with people suffering from anxiety during the lockdown. Apart from this thread, first time I’ve seen ASMR mentioned anywhere. And now I know what it stands for!

    All the kids know asmr now. They watch slime playing videos where beads and foam are added to give a crunchy sound effect. The younger generation seem more stressed out when you think of popularity of squeeze toys, fidget spinners, the in thing now is this silicon toy that you pop.

    asmr must have always existed because it used to be that white noise was favoured for settling babies. Now adults also enjoy hearing you tubers slurp and eat food, it really annoys me but then again it’s not for everyone.
