@Fire was talking about YouTube though, not Insta or Twitter?

I only joined Instagram because my children were joining it and the deal was that they could only join if I could follow them. They're older now and that no longer applies, but it certainly seems to be the top choice of platform for gardeners. I use it for myself now, not just for keeping an eye on my kids, and it has proved really useful.

  • To explain … there was a Spam post this morning and it is that Pansyface and Viewahead were responding to … not Fire’s post. 😊

    its been zapped now. 👍
Ah!  Actually I thought Pansyface was confused by the subject matter of Fire's thread, and I was joining in with the notion. 😉  I have no idea how Twitter works and Insta is even more of a mystery.  I don't even know how I would get to it on the web.  However, I am cool with this ignorance.

I do know how to use YouTube though.  I am not a complete muppet! 😎  I had never thought of it as a place for gardening stuff, so may check that out.
  • The problem with YouTube is that anyone can put what they want on it and claim it's all 'correct'.  No regulation, so you'd have to be very careful what you believe   :)
  • I find that Instagram is the place for The Niece's social life and Youtube is the place for everything else.

    Isn't the same of Insta?

We all have to be careful to parse any media. I follow just a few people on Youtube now - reputable souls. I've resisted Insta so far as I don't want to add screen time and more mesmerism; but that does seem to be where all the gardeners are.

Ah - we posted at the same time so I didn't see it. Goes to show - always best not to respond to or reshare spam, as it makes it more effective.

It's quite an irritating platform if you're used to Facebook or (formerly) Twitter - can't add links etc. except 'in bio' and various other annoying functionality bugs/features. I only use it for gardens and gardeners (and for following my kids still - therefore classical music stuff) though so for me it's a pleasant place to be.

  • @LG_ I recently discovered that a friend from my class in school was made a Dame and manages the LSO. I am so proud! 🤣 Success by proxy!
I'm glad your children are still following their musical journey. I used to love reading about them when I was here years ago.

I am a big user of Instagram, many garden designers show the development of their latest projects and it is a great place to share photos of plants.
I am wary of Utube as there are so many fakes on there. I never cease to be amazed how many people take advice on there as gospel.
How can you lie there and think of England
