Oh dear, how sad, never mind @Obelixx ;)

I've made a few suggestions but MIL is quite insistent on it matching her planters, which is fair enough. I just do as I'm told :)

It is definitely sturdy! He is going to get more orders I reckon.

    Hello folks,
Love that bench @Biglad, talented lad.
Glad you enjoyed your meal and the relaxation DD, shame about the leg cramps though.
It will take you a while to get used to a new laptop @Yviestevie, at least it did me. Your OH seems to be making good progress.
I haven't done much today, taking Obelixx's good advice to take it easy whilst my shoulder settles down. Very difficult to get to sleep last night but it does feel less painful now. Wandered round the garden earlier just deadheading and admiring the roses. My second lot of carrots are appearing and the beans are growing well.
Hope the journey and trip goes well @Obelixx and it's not unbearably hot for you.

Huge admiration for HM for going the extra mile at her age, she's sure got some stamina. Hope the G7 barbecue goes ok and the weather stays perfect for them - our national pride is at stake here!  Nervewracking for the chefs/staff though I expect.

    Great looking bench @Biglad.

It's very hot here at daughter's, south of Poitiers. Her roses are gorgeous, I've posted some photos on the Garden Gallery.

We went to see a garden after lunch. It's a big place and has holiday cabins too, but we've been before and it seems to have gone downhill. The beds were full of weeds and the roses were straggly. The pond had a few inches of murky looking water.

    Evening all.

Had a lovely day as saw sister and niece. We went to a local plant sale - it was the council team selling off their bedding plants they use for the parks, hanging baskets and roundabouts. Officially they should have been free to me considering the council tax price 😂 Bought some Marigolds - I don’t actually like them but they are for companion plants for the tomatoes.

    Have a lovely evening folks.

@AuntyRach, Glad you enjoyed your day with sister and niece - how old is she now? I don't like marigolds either, hate the smell. Just been out watering the garden and noticed tons of blackfly on my lovely Carpenteria, couldn't wash them off either.

Quick question for fashionable ladies - are fascinators now out of fashion for weddings etc? I need to clear out the wardrobe and found a box of them earlier, I don't think I'll be wearing them any more.

Sounds as if folk have had alovely day 😎

@Lizzie27  … re fascinators … my personal feeling is that, with a few exceptions, fascinators have had their day … except for the young glamorous types at the races … I much prefer a hat nowadays. 👒

Watched a bit of football … drama and so nearly a tragedy … hopefully Eriksen
will make a good recovery … and will continue to be able to contribute to the future of football.

    Bedtime for me now 🥱
    sweet dreams all.

Thanks Dove, my thoughts entirely - charity shop it is then.

Beautiful bath - but I wouldn't be able to get or out of it without a stepladder!

Have a good night's sleep everyone.

    Morning all,

    Beautiful here.

Glad to hear about lovely days for you all.

Managed a (very) quick dawn patrol. Garden looks good but it's a constant battle against weeds and plants that want more than their fairshare of light. Result of lots of early rain and now warm blazing sunshine all day. Not as many blooms as normal but everyday I manage to spot something new. Perfect calming start for each day.

Evenings are not as calming, I keep coming home to a plague of flying ants, a good 20 minutes being spent trying to clear up, not fun.

Anyway, time to get back to CdeG, a lot to get done this morning.

    Have a lovely day all.
