Am I too late for supper @Dovefromabove? Sounds delicious. Wine too @punkdoc although I am currently on a very nice Cotes du Rhone Villages.
Complete washout of a day here, but yet still they came, as much as I am grateful for the support I cannot imagine myself eating lunch in a torrential downpour- why would you? Anyway, they were all smiling.
Got the tables I needed from Bordeaux yesterday, legs disappeared for some time, or should I say failed to appear, but all sorted in the end - finally. Chairs came last week @chicky, 2nd attempt at delivery, but tables are an add on due to demand and unseasonal rain. From Wednesday of next week we can use indoor space. We usually bring indoor tables outside in summer and leave indoors without tables, but it's been so wet we may well need both. Unfortunately, it been very changeable so if everyone is sat outside and then it rains we need to have tables available inside to bring people into....gosh it is so complicated.
More staff issues too.....one has put a lot of weight on during confinement and now is being very lazy, one is demanding holidays mid July, ffs, she has just had 7 months off....my French chef is being too flamboyant, not at all consistant, lovely idea, but if you had a lovely Tuna Nicoise last week you are expecting the same dish this week - I am afraid I have been very grumpy with them all today. I am desperately trying to delegate but struggling to let go of any control - I have definitely created a monster!
Poor flowers are also being beaten to death by the rain.
More wine required.

Thanks @tui34 that's the perfect advice im so pleased! I wanted to keep as much height as possible and it's planted in good gravely soil so drainage will be OK. I gave it a bucket of water on planting and then it rained heavily all the rest of the day so that's the aqua sorted!! It had only been out of the original hole it came from for less than an hour so hopefully it will realise its in a garden that actually wants it! Thanks again!
@didyw I laughed At myself all the way home, root ball on dashboard, trunks over my shoulder and gearstick and a third of the top folded back on its self, then slam the boot shut hard!!
Good to hear the doctor is getting assistance organised quickly @Yviestevie, very best wishes for much speedy progress Off to be for me, night all
Morning everyone. Another clear cold start to the day here. Weather bureau predicts rain/snow next week! That’ll be fun. Another excuse to stay indoors colouring. 🙄
Morning folks,at least you saved me some desert Dove,I'll be there later for my morning coffee! I have been living on asparagus, looking a bit like one now! It rained all day, but was busy, made a rainbow veggie curry,(butternut squash base) fed everyone dinner at lunchtime. Took grandkids home, grandson had cricket match which had been cancelled owing to rain. Popped in briefly to give curry to no 2 son I am carer for,had his 2nd jab yesterday, sore arm,but low mentally. Popped into grandkids mum, gave her curry and asparagus quiche, shed just got in from work, been there since 7am, hadn't eaten, had face pack on,got call to collect grandson because cricket match was off!! Washing first load, and dishwasher, check!!
Oh, I also picked an armful of parsley and put it in the dehydrator. The cold nights are turning it a bit yellow, so I decided I’d better preserve as much as possible while there’s still some to harvest. 😁. Ive got the food drying machine sitting on the washing machine since that one has now finished it’s job for the day.
