Good Morning All, we are in sunny Chicklade preparing to go and see FIL. We are staying in a lovely old rectory house from the 1800’s and the setting is beautiful. I awoke to the sound of sheep (cover your ears Biglad) baaing just not something we are used to in Essex 😊 hope you all have a lovely day.
  • LB you’re very welcome to join me for a cuppa.  I was in the sm at 6.57am nice and early and super quiet just me, a lady with a baby and a handsome man.  I was looking for a bottle of port but to no avail and the sandwich spread was hiding somewhere but managed to get everything else and back home by 7.30.  Visited the rellies this morning arrived early and back for the troooping of the colour.  My mask has arrived, one with fabric and a clear window in a floral print as the deaf are having difficulty with full masks and it’s not always easy to hear mumbles.
  • Chive have a great time, it sounds like a lovely place to visit, baaing sheep will be a welcome sound.  Lily I’m staying in now as it’s set to get hot so no weeding today and tomorrow.  Hazel can you feed the sunflower and place in a gentle spot.
  • Hazel I’m so sorry to hear situation with your brother and mum.  I hope a compromise can be reached.

Hi folks,  I've spent the last few days sorting out computer problems.  In the end I've bought a new laptop.  It has a lot more memory than the last one and the keyboard is much better.
Hubby is doing OK, reading lots of children's books out loud which seems to be helping a lot.  I've been in the garden this morning removing ivy from a small holly tree, digging up woody wallflowers and removing lots of dead bulb foliage.  I've got to go back out a plant some sprouts and that will be it for today, I've already watered early this morning.
I've just booked tickets for Trebah Gardens and the Lost Gardens of Heligan for our trip to Cornwall later this month.  We are really looking forward to it after what has been an awful year.
Have a man coming this afternoon to give me a quote for fitting a handrail re the cellar steps.
Thinking of you and your family Hazel, not an easy situation to be in.
Hope everyone is OK and enjoying the sunshine.

Good afternoon everyone. The sun finally came out here about an hour ago but it was a joyous temperature to work in before that. I got the wet cloths on the whirly thing and I will be able to bring them back in soon and put them straight back onto the bed. I got a message from Chey to say he had put his bedding in Lily's TV and the sun immediately went in in Buxton! I told him that was because it had come over to my place.
Chive, I've never been to Wiltshire but it certainly sounds like my type of countryside. Have a lovely time.
    @Songbird-1 pm for you.

Yvie, a new laptop. Great stuff. I love the positive news about your OH. He seems a very determined person and respect to him for tackling the speech issues.
I've tipped my agapanthus out of its container - which was starting to disintegrate - and I'm not kidding you, I couldn't even see any compost, it was all white roots! I dug a big hole in the border, closely watched by Lily and dropped the whole rootball into the hole. Gave it a good soak and crossed my fingers. I also planted out some penstemons and selinums. I have a fair bit of watering to do later but its time for a cuppa now.

    Afternoon all,

Had a couple of slight delays but made it back to the armchair 20 mins after KO. Eldest had paused the TV so was able to watch it all and fast forward the half-time 'expert analysis' ;) . Happy with the result in the end.

Going to quickly check the garden now to see if anything is wilting in the heat :o Then it will be time for game 3 and 4 this evening :)

Hello all nice quiet morning at my work and then done a bit in the garden but it’s too hot to transplant anything at the moment may leave it until tomorrow morning. Chilli cooking in slow cooker now and having a cuppa.
@Songbird-1 my heart goes out to you, problems with parents are one of the worst. Hope you can resolve things without too much heartache for all concerned.
@Biglad pleased you enjoyed football I have drawn Poland and Russia in the family sweepstake but my support won’t extend to actually watching a match or being aware that they are playing. There is a limit after all.

Of course @debs64 - that would be way above and beyond ;)

I realise that fellow football fans are relatively scarce on the forum. I'll try not to keep going on about it. Right! Denmark v Finland beckons :D:D:D
