I've just returned empty handed and p'd off from our local DIY shed.  I found the items I wanted and went to the tills.  At one a lady was returning an item and that was being checked over - fair enough.  At the other somebody had purchased a light fitting and wanted to check it over before buying it - fair enough again, although that could probably have been done with another staff member away from the tills.  A couple of ladies in front of me in the queue got fed up waiting after about 10 minutes, put their purchases back and walked out.  I hung on expecting to be served when one or other of the tills became free.  Instead, the person at the till where the item had been returned decided packing that up was more important, and called another staff member across to help her - not to serve.  At the other till, once light fitting lady was served, the staff member looked pointedly at her watch and left the till.
By this point my patience was exhausted and I dumped my potential purchases on the till and walked out.  I suspect those behind me did the same.  Don't these places want customers?

Got up at the crack of dawn, did my washing and tumble dried it, Phillipa Drew told me it was going to rain, lots,I hate Tumblr dried stuff, told hubby I would be very annoyed if it stayed dry, guess what!!!!I had been fancying egg and cress sandwiches for ages,my local Tesco Express no cress, tried the metro,no cress!! Went to Morrisons, first girl, says no we haven't got any, although she didn't actually know what it was. Just about to give up,asked someone else, Do you mean watercress, no I say,the one you put in your egg sandwiches,,mustard and cress,oh sandwich fillings she says, takes me to ready done sandwich fillings, nope,no cress there. Had already checked salad stuff, lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber, found it,"oh she says you mean sandwich cress" and that's what Morrisons call it before hiding it away. Good job I found it because when I got home, hubby had hard boiled and sliced the eggs

I thought a potting shed was an indulgence. Having been driven in from my potting by the rain,I'm not so sure.
@KT53 customers are the nuisance that messes up a perfect system. The stores were tidy and the shelves stocked until customers started cluttering up the space again.

Thought I'd had my  curmudgeon for the day. Morrisons again,I bought a paperback, normally they put the books in a plastic bag, saving plastic OK fair enough, except unbeknown to me the cress was soaking wet,now the book is,right the way through, have put it in the airing cupboard, you can't turn the pages,if that doesn't work,it's going back!!

I'm sure the tree would prefer it to those knitted scarves wrapped around  the trunk by lily gilders and turd polishers

@Nanny Beach. All that stuff you grow in your garden and you don’t grow your own cress ?

Maybe the Scouts could have Penny for a Hug Day.

Won't get past safeguarding. Compared to football and other sports, scouting has had decades of safeguarding in place.

Perhaps the adult leaders or parents or grandparents could do it instead. Do you have scouts in the family to raise money for?

It's terrible when you fancy an egg and cress sandwich and have to wait for the cress to grow.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.
