    XIV sounds like a Monty Python gardening joke.
    If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

    Hubby is blazing,you know the saga of fence and neighbours. I have always had a certain view of them. Hubby always thought it was a bit harsh,he has revised his opinion, now he's not working,he sees the reality for himself,not just me telling him. For 8 years we got their bin in from the grass verge and put it in their garden. It actually lives there,he can't be ****d to move it 2feet to the back.  They go away a lot ,we are asked to do bins then and always have. Now,hubby sees,that like now, although OUR bin is blocking their drive,and view driving out,they have just moved THEIRS,and left ours,which they do every single week,can't move it s couple of feet into OUR garden. I've always said they are thoughtless and selfish
     I have kids HER age,yet she's obviously not meant to ruin her nails or whatever by moving a bin. She's what I call "a pink fluffy woman", obviously man's" job,yet he quiet happily asks ME,the other side, we do each others,who ever gets there first.

     @Nanny Beach but don't stop what you do for them and become like them.

    To my mind you can divide folk into those who drop litter and those who pick up. You are a picker upper 😁

    I disagree.  This neighbour is either utterly selfish, taking the proverbial, or both. My old neighbour and I would both put all the bins back.  It was simply the first person there after emptying who would do it.

    Not curmudgeonly, just incandescent  🔥😠🔥.
    Parked at the garden centre was a bike with a Heath Robinson contraption front and rear used for the transport of children. There was a tiny seat behind the saddle,apparently for a baby, and a wooden bucket effort at the front with aircraft like seatbelts and a bench, probably for toddlers. They shouldn't be regulated, they should be illegal!!
    Why are there no rules for cyclists, no number plates, no insurance?  - nothing

    In Italy I saw a whole family riding a moped. Mum, dad, toddler, baby and the dog. Luckily the Italians are known for their safe driving and high safety standards :#
    No sign of the weather improving yet but at least the greenhouse is staying in double figures overnight despite the regular hail showers. My tomatoes are now planted out and I don't have to drag the beans in and out of the house every day. The beans have about a week before I'll have to plant them in the ground though so I'm crossing everything that summer will arrive next week.

    We saw the same family ........several times in several different places.

    Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
