Watching the new this evening, I realised that the word that pushes my button is ‘deliver’ in politics. Nothing to do with courier companies who probably do a better job of delivering what they say they will.

I called Hubby's car insurance folk to cancel his account
"thank you for reaching out to enable us to move forward "
    I almost hung up
    Devon.

    'Reach out' is my no1.
'Family' is a close second; I had texts about water usage from the 'Severn Trent Family', and I have bills from 'the Ovo Family'. It's like some kind of mutant version of The Waltons.

"Community' has connotations here that perhaps don't exist elsewhere
    In London. Keen but lazy.

I’ve already moaned on here about it, but today I’ve read three separate newspaper articles where the victims were either ‘stood’ on a railway platform, or ‘laying’ in the road. What qualifications or training are required these days to be a journalist? Not a lot, it seems.
