Where's the foodies and wine lovers? @punkdoc are you about? We're having a poached chicken for supper with fresh asparagus, new potatoes and lemony mayo. Of the two possible accompaniments we have left in the garage I have a Villa Blanche Terret Blanc or a Chilean Phantom River Sauv Blanc ... my instinct is to go with the Terret Blanc and save the Sauv Blanc for something shellfishy at a later date. Which would you go for?

Ah there you are @Pat E Goodness me, hope that hail doesn't damage your cotinus, it's looking gorgeous. The weather , like everything else in the world, seems to be all or nothing these days ... bring back "sweet moderation in all things" (ack. Billy Bragg)

The Villa Blanche series of wines are pretty good, haven't had a bad one yet. Enjoyed last night's Pomerol - 2015 La Croix de Gay described by Robert Parker (Mr Bordeaux) as very good. He wasn't wrong.

Waiting for the rain to start.
Of those wines @Dovefromabove I would go with the Teret Blanc.

I’m going to get a head-start on some ‘homework’ later but I have some homemade lemon drizzle cake to help me through that.
Hope all are ok.
Think we need to do some replenishing of the garage wine cellar.
