It certainly feels like I'm irrigating Australia. I'm on clay overset with my own compost... All the cottages in my area have the same sharp drainage. All very odd. Good, in that it never floods, and lawns do well.
@fire perhaps you could set up a little dam outside the bumbles nest and water a bit aways so as not to flood them, but it should still get to the roots?
Rose of the day: this is either Papa Meilland or Deep Secret, I'm not sure which. New in - the first flower ever from a tiny plant. It has a beautiful red smell.

An inherited cream. It's just divine - a perfect shape and heavenly scent.
Every bud-on-the-edge has flowered at the same time, oddly. I'm hoping to get some new canes as I've had none on this plant this year.

Ena. Quite oddly scarlet in the hot sun.

Dr Jamain and his crazy multi-colour blooms on one plant. Mutabilis.

Scarborough Fair has started flowering, but I only caught them at the end of the day. It's cute the way they close up.
Desdemona is doing well. I've done my first deadheading of the season.
Oddly, my phone is closer with the colour on Munstead Wood than my camera!
Fragrant reds (Munstead Wood, Darcey Bussel and Tess of the D'urbervilles) in a vase.
