@Nollie ...that's ok, thanks for the list.. I do hope Ivor's Rose does well for you, I rather liked the single bloom you showed, and I had a feeling you were going to tell me you dug those stones out..
@Marlorena Thank you, I did it myself, the overall pond is about 6x4 feet, and goes down about 3 foot at the deepest for the water lily pot. I should have had my first lily this year but a certain Labrador fell in and broke it............
@Nollie Mine is called 'Sparkling Stars Red', I think a lot of the reds look fairly similar. It's very easy to grow, my first Astrantia but I'd love more, particularly a white one.
Almost there with the first bloom of the year for me, looks like "Eyes for you" will claim the title. Loads of buds on everything now, recent weather really helped!
'Susan William-Ellis', lot of it there 'Lady of the Lake' No tag found but obviously DA 'Blanc Double de Coubert' 'The Mayflower' 'The Wedgewood Rose' 'Agnes' in full bloom (the path right next to it was closed). If you want an early-blooming rose, it would be a good one. 'Nuits de Young' next to it. More 'Nuits de Young', lot of it there, and I quite like the shape and the sea of buds. 'Rose de Rescht' and clematis 'Nelly Moser' And one rose in full bloom, a miniature china 'Pompon de Paris' I'll post some non-rosy photos in the Garden visits thread later, in the afternoon probably.
I finally started feeling better yesturday afternoon after my sunday am jab, so looking forward to being able to get out in the garden.
@edhelka thanks for sharing, lovely looking place. I like the clump of purple sensation alliums in the middle of the border like that adds a nice splash of purple. I love that wall with the china rose and aubretia too.
@edhelka thanks for lovely photos of a lovely place. It was seeing the mass plantings of SWE there that helped me decide to get it for my small garden!
Well, my roses are out - some of the reds. Etoile is looking lovely and smelling great, but each bloom is seeming to last only a day or two, so it might be a short flush. I like the foliage, so I don't mind that much. The bees are interested, which is good, and unexpected. There is a buff-tailed bumble nest right in amongst it. I expect Malvern and Moonlight will have much longer flowering seasons.

My first Moonlight bloom is out, the first flush since I planted it, and it's covered in buds and happliy climbing the fence. Thanks to @PeteS for recommending it.

A very densely packed Guinee

Below is an unknown, inherited white with the most amazing scent and highly shiny leaves, like mirrors. You can see them here, pic bottom right, shiny in the early sun, like the polishing elves have been busy all night.

The Malvern is alive, if sulking. Dr Jamain is covered in buds but looking... febrile, like he might pass out or throw up at any minute. Physician heal thyself.

Climbing Arthur Bell. It is covered in buds
I hadn't inspected this side of the rose as my Euphorbia has become a monster and blocked the step!
If we get some more sun tonight I will have a sit outside and just enjoy the scent for a while x
