Wow @purplerallim, please do share a picture when it is at its prime.
Very lovely stonework @Suesyn , I've been thinking I'd like a Persicaria, yours looks great. I did succumb to Astrantias this year though and @Omori's confirms it was a good idea, great pond shots there.
I do hope the Austin blue pots are just for the NHS charity plants, I use them extensively after rose deliveries, blue would not tuck away easily. It will be interesting @Marlorena what it is Austin liked enough about that rose Nye Bevin and you are the right person to bring out its best and show us.
Thank you for looking @Nollie, I did the same! I'm going with Blue River though. With the benefit of actually seeing it and remembering it from last year it matches with Agel-Rosen's written description and the buds with leafy sepals make it a better candidate. Not that there are many photos of the buds on HMF of either. It is not as pointy a bloom as Mamy Blue, not that classic HT centre or the outer petals opening and curling back pointyly™. Terrific scent either way.
I’ve been busy at the allotment plot planting out all of my dahlias (I can finally walk on my balcony now that they’ve gone in the ground.. they took up soo much space on my balcony while they were hardening off..)
it’s been a glorious day today in Liverpool and I got home to see my partially opened Desdemona bud finally displaying its full glory.. with a scent to match too!
The first whiff of rose fragrance in year 2021 made me a little emotional. It’s interesting how my other rose buds that started earlier than Desdemona are still behind.. and Desdemona just suddenly popped up and stole their thunder..
Blue River it is then @Tack, good detective work on the buds, plus the last photo is not very Mammy. The TM meaning Tack Mark of course 😊
First bloom on Ivor’s rose. Not especially distinctive, actually looks better in the photo than in reality. The point of this one is meant to be bush size (allegedly massive) and drought-tolerance. We’ll see..

Wow, fabulous Astrantia @Bright star, which one is that? I see @Omori has one similar by the gorgeous wildlife pond.. would love something that colour.
Oh and thanks for the explanation about the DA pots, that explains it!

... nice handiwork Nollie.. going to look great with those roses around the tree.. when it's finished perhaps you could list which roses you have chosen for this area..
.. presumably those big rocks you get delivered locally?.. they look very heavy..
Just checking back on something and realised I missed your question @Marlorena, sorry! Most of those rocks were excavated when I dug out the bed and the rest collected around around and about the place. Will do some more photos when finished and label the roses but including a fairly big area between the rose fence, swooping around a fig tree then circling the olive the tree are:
Souvenir de St Annes Mme. Antoine Mari Astronomia (existing)
Love Song
Ivor’s Rose (I remain to be convinced about this one!) Mme. Isaac Pereire Excellenz von Shubert Ebb Tide
Purple Lodge
So all white, lavender, pink and purple tones.

We spent the day in Bodnant garden... an absolutely awesome place. I have a ton of photos to go through. I tried to take a lot of photos of their rose garden but obviously only a couple of blooms, but interesting anyway. I will post some later today or tomorrow. We went there mostly for their rhododendrons and it was the perfect time. The laburnum arch was also just starting to bloom.
@Nollie, it is a beauty and more vigorous than others I have. It’s called Gill Richardson, I have another burgundy coloured one called Hadspen blood which has very dark stems but it’s a slow grower.
Life's tragedy is that we get old too soon and wise too late.
