@JessicaS do you have the Highgrove in? Or anyone else. I was examining it just now, trying to peer into the future to see where it might work. Thanks

Great to see the blooms keep coming as we enter Autumn, lets hope those of you who have had a poor season so far will see a last hurrah! I’m also looking forward to hearing about everyone’s new orders 😃 On that note, does anyone want to volunteer or nominate someone to start a new thread, ROSES Autumn/Winter Season 2021/22?

Fire’s idea to split the thread over the year is working very well, I think. Ive very much enjoyed ‘hosting’ this one, but it would be nice for someone else to have a turn.

    C’mon folks, don’t be shy!!

That’s great, thanks @JessicaS, if everyone is happy, as I am sure they will be, please go ahead 😊

What are your favourite white roses? Of any type!
  • Yes, thank you @JessicaS and @Nollie. Your trellis looks good, wish I could make stuff like that. Is that Glenfiddich booming in the border behind? I think I haven't made that rose up, sure I've seen it posted on here🤔

I only have two white roses @zugenie and my favourite is Alba Maxima, a large summer flowering rose with small, funny flat flowers.

Speaking of white roses, does anyone that has Kew Gardens think it is genuinely ok in shade? It would get sun from the East only. I had Fru Dagmar Hastrup in this space, planted last winter but after a series of starts and stops I am down to one frond of leaves.

I dug it up and potted it to try and salvage it but I since got caught on the two stems at the back and they snapped off. Wood was dead. Roots didn't look amazing either and thought I might give it up...
