@owd potter ...I think we have the name of your 'Toyah' rose.. .it's 'Paul's Scarlet Climber'... it's not usually remontant, but you can sometimes get a few later blooms... see how it goes..

That's brilliant @Marlorena, you're a star Toyah is going through an identity crisis it seems...

I do have Paul's scarlet (posted a photo here; the colour didn't come out properly) and it did flower twice last year. I pruned it soon after the first flush, may be that is why.
Oxford. The City of Dreaming Spires.
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils (roses). Taking a bit of liberty with Wordsworth
A lovely evening after all that rain, so I spent some time deadheading and removing all those willowherbs that get only spotted when they are embarrassingly tall.
I am very happy with 'Our Beth' this year, after being 100% decided on removing it last year. Reliably very fragrant 'Claire Jolly'. Now growing a long new basal (visible in the previous photo in the corner), it is a seedling of 'The Fairy' and even though it is a very compact rose, I guess it could grow big if not pruned... in 5-10 years). Very reliable and easy rose, perfect if you need a front border filler, it gets completely covered in blooms. Very wet 'Amazing day'. White buds, white outer petals, pink inner petals, yellow base. Sweet fragrance. And also wet 'Empereur Charles IV.'
Falstaff is such an unwieldy looking thing, I hope that it's habit will improve with age. The flowers are showing some spotting which I presume is caused by rain, but the colour is beautiful
My rose of the day is my first Creme de la Creme, from plants put in this winter. Does well with rain. It's going fairly slowly in partial shade, but it wil come good. I will soon take down some surrounding shrubbery to give it more light and room.

Nice compact shape too. Not bad for a 3 month old rose. Really impressed
