I remember when my mum upgraded to a Volvo estate and suddenly we had so much more space. This was back when Volvos started to introduce all the OTT crash safety protections so the cars were even bigger than before. She had a serious accident in that car a couple of years later and wouldn't have survived if she'd been driving any of our previous cars.

I so envy you guys. Your parents owned cars and you went on holidays. My first holiday and trip abroad was on my honeymoon and that was to Devon, until that point I had never been anywhere my parents never owned a car and we never ever had a holiday. Ignorance that people did that I suppose meant it wasn't a hardship, but once I became old enough I travelled the world a bit as soon as I was able.Β

Travel while you can folks (when the pandemic is over of course) at the last chapter of life all you have left are your memories make as many as you can by travelling and with your family to hold dear as you age .

Cars are amazing things when it comes to personal freedom but I remember when I was younger working out how much of my pay went on paying for a car to get me to work and it was quite depressing.Β

I just cut my finger open while removing teething powder packets from the washing machine drain filter. I keep telling her she needs to check her pockets...
