Good morning all. Grey here bu dry, out for walk with sister in a bit, she has been working doing lateral flow tests in local school which she has hated and also one of her oldest friends is very ill in hospital so hoping I can cheer her up a bit. Good news is she gets her vaccine on Saturday.
Work will be busy later we are very understaffed but it’s only 5 hours and I am planning a weekend in the garden.
SGL can I recommend Gertrude Jekyll for a climber lovely deep pink flowers and an amazing scent.

    Morning

I hope you have a good day at work Chive and Debs. I am there today 9-just after 3pm. I hope it goes quickly for us.

I hope the weather for the weekend improves. Today we have mist with that fine misty rain. The forecast seems to have changed as earlier in the week we had sun and cloud.

I hope you can cheer up your sister. Some fresh air and a bit of company can do wonders. I hope that you sisters friend begins to feel better very soon.

I hope you all have a lovely day.

    Morning everyone,
We have beautiful blue skies and sunshine this morning. Slept well and was woken by the birds singing.
Think we'll go for a walk and make the most of the sunshine.
Thank you @debs64 think I'll have another look at that one. Want a pink climber. Had also looked at The Constant Gardener.  So sorry to hear your sister's friend is very poorly in hospital. Hope she gets better soon. Enjoy your walk with your sister.
Hope you've found your ring Rosie.
Hope you get everything in 'sco LB
Hope everyone has a good day today.
Friday again already, where did this week go!
  • LB I’m glad you enjoyed your walk with Bestie.  It’s so important to catch up.  No sign of the ring I’m afraid.  I did love it.  Chive the children will probably be excited for the weekend today.  I hope your day is a good one and then home and put your feet up tonight.  Lily I’ve had some sunny days here in between showers.   I’ve a new vac and I can get in all the corners.  My other one seemed to redistribute the bits.  This one has a turbo brush and is much better.   Purple Rose I hope your day at work goes speedily.   Have a good day everyone.

Sorry you haven't found your ring yet Rosie, really hope you find it. Have you worn gloves lately, could be inside. Or your coat pocket?  I thought I'd lost one of mine a few years ago, I found it in my needlework box 🤷🏻‍♀️
We went for a lovely walk through the woods this morning. The sunshine was beautiful. Have done some weeding, grass is still too wet to cut.
Hope you're all having a good day

Afternoon everyone, what a lovely sunny day it really lifts your spirits,
LB I hope you got all you needed from the SM this morning. Lovely to hear you had a nice walk & chat yesterday with your bestie, you must have really enjoyed doing that,
Rubee I hope the Wisteria performs well for you now, what a lot of patience you have to unravel the roots it should respond to all that TLC,
Rosie Sorry you’ve not yet located your ring, hoping it puts in an appearance soon. Your new vac sounds excellent for getting into all the tricky corners,
Debs I hope you’ve had a nice walk with your sister today, sorry to hear that her friend is poorly I hope she makes a good recovery,
SGL What a perfect day for a walk in the woods, so pleased you slept well too that’s two nights in a row 👍,
Hazel Shame about the gloves for OH they sounded ideal, hope his hands aren’t quite so painful today. Nice to treat yourself to a new blouse, I hope that worked out ok,
PurpleRose Work nearly done and you can start to enjoy the weekend,
OH had his AZ jab yesterday and so far so good no ill effects from it 🤞🤭
Hope you all have a nice afternoon.

Hello all. I hope that you have all enjoyed your Friday. Debs, so sorry to hear that your sister's friend is so poorly. I do hope that she recovers and gets back to full strength soon. SGL, another lovely walk for you today too. After shopping and lunch I decided to get all of the dahlia seedlings potted on and repositioned in the greenhouse. The two little paper starter pots that have shown no growth have now got another seed in and they are sitting on the kitchen windowsill - I would like to have a round dozen dwarf dahlias eventually. The other plants in the greenhouse are all starting to grow away now - ready for putting into the garden. I'm pleased to say that the pond is now no longer underwater and the water level has certainly dropped but the garden at the bottom still looks like a mud wallow.. I've filled up the bird feeders and the birds flocked back as soon as I got into the kitchen. Thats me done for the day. I hope that it will be nice tomorrow.
RosieBB & Chive it was a delight seeing my friend. We haven't seen one another since last year and there was so much we needed to catch up on - things that get missed out of texts etc. Fingers crossed its as nice (and a bit warmer) next Thursday when we will meet up again. Glad your OH has had no ill effects. All my family in this region have had their first ones (AZ) and none of us had any serious effects. We are now looking forward to our second ones next month. RosieBB, could you use your new sucky thing to try and hunt down your ring?
A new series of GW tonight - looking foward to that. When I was in 'sco today, I saw Monty's book - My Garden World. I was tempted but resisted. I did buy a Peter James book. One in the Grace series (of which there seem to be dozens!) and I might start it tonight.

@LB I think subscribers to Gardeners World magazine can get the book at a discount? Lovely walk with my sister we were able to see a herd of about 12 deer 🦌 cross in front of us. Sisters friend was very ill 3 years ago something to do with necrotic tissue and blood poisoning but has been well after a scary few weeks, she is only 51 and very health conscious but is now in a coma on life support it’s not looking good. Trying to stay positive as I know her well myself.
How lovely that we are starting to be able to see friends again. This vaccine really is a light at the end of a very long dark tunnel.
Rosie I hope that ring turns up soon.

I am so so sorry to hear that Debs. Is does not sound very good for the friend of your sister. I used to have a subscription many years ago to GW Debs but I wasn't finding the time to read them then so I stopped my subscription. In 'sco, the book is £5 but it comes under the combined offer of 2 books for £9.
