I think gardening is gardening... doesn't matter that some parts of the programme are made by Chris Beardshaw in the Cotswolds.  How he deals with the weeds on his allotment is universal.  And a lot of the content is from Beechgrove, demonstrating the seasonal difference there, in case anyone might be confused...

Since Covid!  previously, Chris B would go up to Beechgrove for his slots and he's done some really good stuff up there in terms of planting up the rose garden with interesting roses and perennials, sorting out the bog garden planting, raising crowns on conifers and other trees and shrubs to change light, views and vistas - always relevant, do-able and well explained and shown.

Clearly with the stricter and longer travel restrictions in Scotland he's been obliged to so his pieces form home and they have all been relevant, do-able, well explained.........

I was wondering when George will reappear at Beechgrove, l assume it's safe and he's allowed to travel now.

How does George grow all of that produce and keep his allotment going on one hours work a week the man's a genius.

It was Chris Beardshaw,  that said he was only spending an hour a week on his Allotment.  I think George spends more time than that.

I'll get my BIL to ask him - he's a close friend.
He certainly isn't helping him - my BIL knows zero about gardening!  :D
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

You're right @Allotment Boy.  It was Chris B who said he and his wife spend about an hour a week up there now they've got the soil sorted and the beds laid out and planted.

Bear in mind that he is a trained horticulturalist, has been a lecturer at Pershore college, a major centre for horticultural training at all levels, has his own landscaping design business with an international customer base and has won gold at Chelsea more than once or twice.    He knows what plants need to do well and how to get the best out of them as well as how to associate them, be they ornamental or edible or both.

George did say last year that he did all the work on his plot with only a 1 hour visit for himself and wife so 2 hours a week. Not sure if this was a normal thing or lockdown hours

I spend at least 6 hours/week on my 10 pole plot and that's a minimum in the summer it could do with a lot more time if it was to look manicured, maybe Georges raised beds mean that he doesn't need to spend a lot of time on the plot and his soil is a lot lighter than mine so maybe that helps as well.
