Presentation on Beechgrove seemed much more natural, conversational and unforced with the lineup when Jim was there.  New presenters do need time to settle into their roles.  Kirsty was like a rabbit in headlights when she started but is certainly much more relaxed now.  I'll be amazed though is Callum calms down enough to be watchable for me.

Generally speaking l prefer Beechgrove as it has much more practical advice, however l was struck by the awkwardness between the presenters .
The bits with Carole and the chap from Scone Palace (Brian ?), and George and Callum with the chat about showing felt particularly unnatural. I suppose some of them have been away from the usual filming at Beechgrove for nearly 2 years (l think last year it was usually just Carol and Mairi), so hopefully they will get back into the swing of it soon.
Like @Bee witched l miss Jim and his no nonsense approach 😁.
  • I enjoyed Beechgrove more that Gardeners world this week. Much more down to earth and they were quite exited to get back to gardening. Valerie

Every season the first episode of Beechgrove seems to be a bit dull and even Callum seemed a bit subdued but hopefully the show will warm up as the weather does.

George may have been wondering what the heck was going on when working with Callum.  I can't imagine two more different characters.  Opposites don't always attract.

I thought that it looked as if George and Calum got on very well, last year one of Georges only visits outside of his own domain was when he visited Calum and his family.

Perhaps the people here on the forum who don't understand the massive variations in climate in the UK, will enjoy the opening sequence of last night's programme.   ;)

Anybody who has watched previous series of Beechgrove will know how much their climate varies, never mind the rest of the UK. :D

I thought the weather was the most interesting part of last nights show.
