"Oh no! they must be showing the wrong episode!" Err no, it was real. Love you Scotland. They must have had to change some bits because of the weather.
None of us are original thinkers, and if Calum listens to George's advice, (he does not have to agree with what he is hearing) he will pick up from George's past experiences and be a better gardener, showman for it!
When I started with my allotment I asked and was sometimes given advice without asking by some of the old blokes on the plots, some of which were just plain daft, but I picked the bits I thought were best and prospered, so Calum always listen!
I was a newbie once and am still here, we have some turnover of newbies every year almost always the same plots ( six feet high weeds) they come on with the attitude, i'm organic, no dig, vegan or i'm not going to feed my family chemicals so i'm not using weedkillers, pesticides etc and i don't want your advice as I have already researched online and they agree with me organic etc is the best.
They last a weekend or two and then are gone, leaving behind pallets and poly sheets and other detritus, they never change!
I'm saying nowt except it's time the director had a word with the presenters and told them to stop waving their arms about like demented windmills. Oh and I've given up, there's more to life than sitting hoping it will get better.

There was one episode a couple of years ago where they had to do everything from in the greenhouses because of torrential rain. Soundman/woman/person must have been tearing his/her hair out.
Tuned in for inspiration of what might be growing well at the moment! Made me laugh that must have been filmed last week. Ah the challenges of the short growing season.
Gave it another go - so boring. More like a zoom meeting with all the 'Beechgrowers' just grinning and waving. Too much saying what they are going to do and not enough actual doing. It just felt very amateur to me. Pretty snow though.
We had snow and hail for an hour or so last Friday. Not severe enough to lie though. Many parts of Scotland can have snow through April, and May, and it doesn't have to be at any great altitude either. Short season indeed @Sendmesun, but when you've been doing it long enough, it's just the norm. Anything warmer/drier etc, especially at this time of year, is a welcome bonus I don't think any of them are natural presenters, apart from Brian. I've never thought Carole was anyway, and she hasn't really improved. I reckon Callum will settle down a bit once he gets jaded and weary of it all. He's like a wean on Christmas Day
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
I've got a strong aversion to folk jabbing fingers at me. I think it stems from wearing black and standing on football fields attracting unwanted attention Keep wanting to slap Callum's hand when he's at it. Hopefully, he'll calm down and/or somebody will suggest he reduces how much talking he does with his hands.
