    8pm tonight.

" In a special programme, Carol Klein and Nick Bailey celebrate gardeners throughout the country who have created some truly unique gardens and made every space count.

Carol meets a couple in Dorset whose garden is full of inspirational features, and Nick is in his own city garden, giving his design and gardening tips for making the most of limited spaces. Frances Tophill travels to the Isle of Man to find out how a community of gardeners cope with extremes of weather, while Joe Swift is in Cardiff visiting an extraordinary water-filled front garden.

In Sheffield, one man’s garden is given over to homes for wildlife, and we discover the challenges of gardening on the balcony of a high-rise in Manchester. And, of course, there’s plenty of inspiration from our viewers's own gardens. "

Must say that garden that Carol visited was something else. Also enjoyed the garden in Sheffield belonging to the fireman. There were some good ideas there.

I missed the first 15 mins, but enjoyed it so much ( apart from viewers' videos ) I might watch the start on iPlayer
    Devon.

The Dorset garden was wonderful. Why doesn't mine look like that? I wish it did.

I wish mine did too. I got the impression that it's two people, both retired, spending a lot of their time on it, so not going to happen here.
Doncaster, South Yorkshire. Soil type: sandy, well-drained
  • I thought it was the best episode of the year.. the viewers videos were a highlight.
The guy in Sheffield is a genius and that ladies 'white garden' was great.
Nick's garden is quite good and that blokes water filled front garden was fantastic (although it was evident Joe wasn't overly impressed).
The seaside garden(s) didn't do to it for me - all that humping of compost bags each year seems silly. There surely must be many salt tolerant plants they could use?
The Dorset garden, I'm afraid left me a bit cold..

A nice way to pass an hour tho..

I enjoyed it too but have to wonder about the timing of the viewer's garden with tulips and forget-me-not.  More like June surely?

Anyway, some lovely gardens and keen growers and great ideas.  Love the ingenuity of the Sheffield chap and the evident delight of the white garden woman.  The water garden was great fun.

I agree. The corten steel wall was fantastic. Very envious of that one

The fireman from Sheffield was an inspiration he couldn't have got any more in to his garden if he tried, funny that a fireman didn't have a longer ladder though.
