You are not alone. The most interesting thigs Monty has done this year are the removal of all that dreadful dead box hedging and the structures to support his pumpkins and squashes now that he's finally realised they take up too much space if not grown vertically and ripen better up in the sun.
He then spoiled both by replacing some of the box with low yew hedging on part of the garden and not showing how he'd made his rustic squash supports.

I'm just watching now on iPlayer. Amused to see Adam planting Thalictrum flavum glaucum - I just dug out a bit yesterday - it was doing a bit too well (and it self-sows).
Doncaster, South Yorkshire. Soil type: sandy, well-drained
Not seen last night's episode yet that's tonights viewing. I find Adam and Monty's presenting style almost identical, there are clear themes that the program as a whole follows, peat free compost is pushed by all presenters. I'm a fan of Monty's style of planting as I hate to see any bare soil and have all my beds crammed, I do though love Adams woodland garden and would love a veg garden as organised as his (my budget does not stretch that far). Definitely room for a new look to the show, I'm not sue Adam would have the time to be the full-time presenter as he has a very busy garden design company and does loads of other stuff.
