I think that's an important point @Hostafan1 ... I think the idea behind MD doing the job is that he can be seen as 'one of us' gardening in his own garden, not a professional but an enthusiastic and able amateur ... whether that works, continues to work or ever did, is probably very subjective.

I agree, but would you go to an amateur solicitor, engineer, surveyor or dentist if you wanted the best information available?
No, but I don't go to GW for the best information available ... nowadays that's so easily accessible online (and of course always has been in books). I think what most folk go to GW for is ideas and encouragement ... and generally speaking, GW does that in spades (see what I did there? )

There are times when I think 'Hmm Monty ... not sure that I agree with you there' but I've also thought the same when Bob Flowerdew or Bunny Guinness et al have said something on GQT ... because it's not been borne out by my own experience. However I believe that they're saying what they have found to be true in their own experience, and I believe the same of MD. When I follow their guidance I may get different results because of all the imponderables and variations in conditions etc ... that's what gardening is ... getting to know your own garden and learning from your own experience ... it's not something that you can say 'If you do A and then B you will get C' .... it's a bit more like painting ... yes, blue and yellow make green, but what sort of blue and what sort of yellow and what sort of green? you've And if you've only got one sort of blue, can you mix it with something else to get a green that is similar, if not exactly the colour you want? Or can you put it next to a certain shade of red in order to accentuate the yellowness of that green?

This is so true, Dove, gardening isn't an exact science and results vary according to conditions. Sometimes it is useful to watch how something is done, rather than read about it. I wonder if it would please everyone, or perhaps no- one, to have practical and 'inspirational' sections of each programme.
I really like Adam's presenting style. He is just so relaxed whilst still be extremely informative. His piece on modifying composts this week was a great example of that.

What I like a lot about Adam is how much he smiles and chuckles to himself about things. He seems so much more relateable than Monty too - his anecdotes where he talks about his mates being, "all, like, oi Frosty". 😄
oh Bob flowerdue really annoys me!and bunny guiness once replied to a question by saying she always gets her cows to help out..honestly gardeners question time gets worse!! love Adams garden.but so fed up with viewers gardens.enough already.and Katie's wild life garden is a mess and always on.rant over.. tho I did wonder why my recorder was working at 7am this morning!!
I think GW are missing a trick by not making more use of this website.
There are a lot of frequently asked questions that are not reflected in the programmes. Not everyone cares as much about tomatoes or bananas as Monty. But 'Is it a weed?' bears more discussion.
Many questions also reveal a lack of basic understanding of plants and how they grow, which is often taken for granted, when it needs to be addressed.
There are a lot of interesting gardens of all styles, shapes and sizes belonging to both old hands and newer gardeners that could provide talking points and maybe even some people who would be prepared to contribute more themselves, based on their own experience, in their own circumstances.
Sue Kent, for example, was/is inspirational and certainly made me think more about 'disability', but there are many people with other issues to cope with, whether physical or geographical or whatever, who show equal resolve in their determination to have a garden, which would help others and make interesting watching into the bargain.
