Hello Forkers, tryig to get to grips with my new replacement laptop, it's much bigger and not a touchscreen, just a cursor which is taking some getting used to again. Slightly annoyed that my lovely laptop case my son gave me doesn't fit it and I've had to buy another. We've just completed the Census, on the grounds the site will probably crash tomorrow!
I've done some gardening today, pruned the hydrangeas, fed and mulched the front garden roses and hope to do the back garden ones tomorrow. My rhubarb plant is pathetic, mainly because I keep moving it. Only just showing through now. The magnolia stellata is coming into bloom which I can see from the sitting room and behind it the pink cherry is still in full bloom so makes a lovely picture. Enjoyed GW yesterday, would love to go to Bressingham.
Very pleasant day in the half sun but good to feel the warmth on my face albeit the wind was a bit chilly. Potted on 15 Pelargoniums and 8 Artemesia Nana Attraction - love these silver afro plants. Did have 10 but Tula2 saw off two, kindly depositing the remains on the doormat! Just did a stock take of what's in the greenhouses to do a planting plan - Yikes!! 671 ...where the Scobbie Doo am I going to put all them ? Why did I take that job?? Better pour myself a G & T 🍸🍸🍸
I’m in bed now ... couldn’t keep my eyes open ... weve both been having a lovely long phone chat with old friend ... now I’m really tired ... night night all 😴
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Rain here!👏👏👏. Measured 25 mmm in the gauge. Hubby lit the wood heater yesterday to counter the cool air inside. Not bad! Lots of stories on Tele about various flooded areas in mid NSW. I can see through the trees that our river has spread out across the whole width,so that’s a plus. It really needs a good wash out. Lots of shrubbery growing where there should be water. The drought of the last year or so has been hard on everything. Speaking of that my rhubarb is a bit of a joke. I agree with everyone that they don’t like to be dry and sunny. It also shares it’s bed with Jerusalem Artichoke and French Sorrel so I can’t really complain about it’s poor performance.that

According to my phone you’ve got a couple more days of rainy weather down there in NSW. ☔️
