We were sprayed when we landed at Sydney in Jan 2001 and sniffer dogs checked every passenger and bag for food and fruit items.
One of the many unforeseen problems arising from Brexit is that NI is now lumped in with Eire (EU import and export rules) so can't get plants, seeds and many foodstuffs across the Irish sea from mainland UK until somebody sorts out the bureaucracy.
I knew about the new rules in tie to order any seeds I wanted before the posting deadline in December and started a thread to warn those who would be affected but many have been caught out. Fortunately, there are many alternative seed and plant sites over here and we can even find things like PSB but I had to send to the USA for a $10 patchwork template (25$ P&P) because many UK companies can't get simple inanimate things through the PO at the mo until they've all worked out the regulations. Needless to say I spent more than the 10$ to maximise the P&P fees.

Driving back from Las Vegas to Los Angeles about 20 years ago we were surprised to find a huge border post at the state boundary. Sniffer dogs gave the car and us a good going over and then expecting to be asked if we were smuggling drugs or were communists the question was "are you carrying any fruit?". California is very afraid of fruit flies getting into their fruit crops.
Update ... after booking his jab at the big city centre place for the end of the month, OH was phoned by the GP practice offering him a jab this Saturday 😃 He has accepted this and cancelled the later one 👍

Well @WonkyWomble, you were worried about one snail in your greenhouse. I think half the N London slug population was sheltering in in mine. I have had a good clear out,now but still nothing sown.
I have been feeding slugs and snails to the chooks @Allotment Boy. So far so good but no tender new babies for the b$stards to munch either. Just wait till they find my clematis shoots.
I decided to sow some chillies in individual cells on my new heated mat this pm on the grounds that by the time they pop and need potting on it'll be warm enough to keep the seedlings going safely and I can then sow tomatoes.
Whilst hunting thru my seed stash for the new chilli varieties I ordered from Belgium last year I found some seeds for rhubarb "Champagne". Might sow a few of those tomorrow after the SM run along with some spring onions in a trough. The Belgian seed site organises its chillies in 3 group - mild, hot and insane. Love it - https://www.vertiloom.com/en/peppers/ and sweet for the bell peppers.
