I was pleased they chose that design and also pleased they chose to paint the walls. The black made a lovely background for the fresh green foliage and a contrast with the colour and texture of the stones in the walls and paving and steps.

They've substituted a concrete block for a stone-clad block. The garden still looked very harsh and Tom seemed to have run out of money before he'd got to the top level. I noticed that they'd not even bothered to paint the ground so it was still cracked and weathered blue. Pip's design was my preferred route. I feel like both of Tom's designs have been very much 'Chelsea'. Both will be absolute nightmares to maintain and, I'm sure, will look pretty rubbish in a year or two.
Well, chappy is a groundsman for the local council so, presumably, he knows a bit about maintenance. The bottom of that pit was paved and I loved the water feature. I liked that they used local materials too.
I liked Pip's design and it's probably my preferred option but they were both good solutions to a horrendous problem.

I liked both designs, but i was very disappointed with the look of the winning one. What happened to the large pond? I thought it all looked a bit of a mess.
Episode 3 I loved the winning design, but it looked like it need a bit of bedding in or tidying up at the end
pleased that the more imaginative design won again in Episode 4, so glad people are more adventurous with their gardens than they are with their houses. The alternate design was nice but I felt it would become pretty mundane over time.
They both showed that you could get a dramatic garden for the same price of the more understated.
Both my wife and I would have preferred the pool maintained to its original glory, particularly in lockdown! 😅
I couldn't believe that the people with the small garden ignored it for 3 whole years. It wouldn't have taken much to take up the old decking and have it replaced. I liked both of the big designs but couldn't see where that massive budget went.
I couldn't believe they had children who they had never taken outside, choosing instead to keep the curtains shut, literally keeping the kids in the dark about the existence of the garden.
Hilarious but a bit creepy the way they said it. 🙂
Enjoyed Episode 4, the main garden change was nice - I’m not an industrial fan but the lavender under the pathway was genius.
The small “garden” was fabulous - now I’m wondering if I can paint the fence by my garden door terracotta and do something similar in the courtyard area.
Loved the main design. Apart from wheelchair access issues the original garden looked ok. It was nice to see something that was practical and designed for a disability instead of the usual designs ive seen.
the small design grew on me the more i saw of it but too much terracotta paint for me personally.
The little garden was cute and that shade of terracotta was a good pick as it wasn't too hot/red which looks awful under the UK's blue light. The main garden was a bit of a snooze fest for me. I like concrete but would I want it in my garden everywhere? Probably not. It was the pairing of it with so much exposed galvanized metal that made it so hard edge it just didn't feel like a domestic garden.
The chosen design was certainly more interesting and varied than the other tho I liked the way he used yellow and grey throughout. Not so keen on galvanised metal as opposed to rusty but I thought the use of concrete pipes and tubes was clever.
I just hope that hubby can keep up with the plant maintenance, minimal tho it will be for those of us who like tending our plants. Most of all I hope it makes the woman happy. MS, like MND, is such a sneaky, mysterious disease to have to face.

I didn't particularly like any of the episode 4 designs, but the owners seemed happy with them which is what matters. The small one was far too orange for my taste, but was brilliant use of the tiny space.
